She took her last breath on September 21, 2026, at her Westwood, Massachusetts, home, according to her obituary. Kyle was one of the 34 grandchildren that Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy had. Days after her death, Kyle Kennedy’s aunt, Kerry Kennedy, paid a tribute to her with a heartbreaking post.
Kerry Kennedy, 67, took to social media to share a heartbreaking tribute for her niece, Kyle Kennedy. In an Instagram post on October 21, 2026, Kerry stated that their family is heartbroken after the death of Kyle. She remembered Kyle as a gentle spirit and a committed educator. Kerry also noted that Kyle Kennedy was a devoted mother to her two children. She wrote:
“Our family is heartbroken by the loss of my dear niece, Kyle Francis Kennedy. A bright light and gentle spirit, Kyle was a committed educator and devoted mother to Conor and Declan.”
Kerry said that her heart goes out to Kyle’s children, her mother, and her brother. She wrote that Kyle is the daughter of her beloved brother, Michael, and Vicki Gifford Kennedy. She concluded the post by writing:
“Our hearts are with her children, her mother Vicki, her brother Michael, and sister Rory. Kyle was the daughter of my beloved late brother Michael and Vicki Gifford Kennedy. May she rest in eternal peace among the angels with her father and daughter Josephine. We love and miss you, Kyle.”
Kerry Kennedy’s followers shared their prayers with her in the post’s comments section. One user wrote, “Love and prayers are with you all from here in England.” Another wrote, “I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful niece. Sending love.” A third user penned, “I'm praying for you and your family, Kerry. Kyle seemed like a great person.”
Kyle Kennedy was born on July 6, 1984, in Washington, D.C. She was raised in Cohasset, Massachusetts, after which she attended Georgetown University, from where she earned a degree in history. Kyle also graduated from Pace University with a Master's degree in early education. She then attended graduate school at Harvard University, where she obtained her Master's in education policy and management.
Kyle Kennedy's obituary reveals that she worked as an educator and began her career while working with Teach For America in New York City. During her time there, Kyle focused on early childhood education and worked on educational reform for disadvantaged children and people with disabilities.
In her personal life, Kyle was married to Liam Kerr. The duo tied the knot in 2012 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. The couple welcomed three children together. Just days after Kyle gave birth to her twins, Conor and Josie, the latter passed away tragically. Two years after this, Kyle and Kiam welcomed their son, Declan. Reports state that Kyle and Liam were divorced at the time of her death.
While Kyle’s official cause of death is under investigation, it is worth mentioning that she suffered a severe spinal injury in 2020. This left her with long-term paralysis. Since then, she has become an advocate for those living with disabilities. She even testified at the Massachusetts State House during a hearing on discrimination in health care for people with disabilities.
