Kumar Sanu's ex-wife, Rita Bhattacharya, opened up about the singer and how he dragged her to court during pregnancy. She even talked about his extramarital affair with Kunickaa Sadanand.
Bollywood singer, Kumar Sanu's personal life has again made it to the headlines, ever since his ex-girlfriend, Kunickaa Sadanand, opened up about their relationship. Now, the famous playback singer's ex-wife, Rita Bhattacharya, broke her silence and claimed that Kumar Sanu tortured her during her pregnancy. She also talked about his affair under her nose, which came to light after 27 years.
Recently, in an interview with Film Window, Rita Bhattacharya opened up about the time she was tortured when she was pregnant with her third child. She claimed that Kumar Sanu's behaviour towards her changed after he rose to fame with Aashiqui. Rita revealed that Kumar Sanu was extremely insecure and didn't allow her to go out of their house. She further claimed that the singer's sister left her own children and husband to live with them, and would sleep in the same room as Kumar Sanu. On the other hand, Rita had to sleep with her children in another room. She also stated that they both tortured her.
Not only this, Rita claimed that Kumar Sanu dragged her to court when she was pregnant, while he had an affair at that time. Rita also stated that her entire world came to a standstill, as just a year ago, he had thrown a party and openly accepted that she was the reason behind his success. Rita said:
"He took me to court during my pregnancy. He even had an affair during that time, which came out today. And, he dragged me to court? I was very young at that time, mujhe aisa laga jaise mera pura duniya khatam hogaya tha (I felt like my whole world had been crushed), and my family was shocked. He had such a huge party a year ago, saying I was the reason behind his success. I never got to know the reason. He used to laugh at me and make fun of me in the court."
Rita stated that Kumar Sanu distanced himself from her and their youngest child, Jaan. She added that the singer's love life was often discussed in the media, and she requested that he put an end to the claims, as their elder son was getting engaged, but he didn't respond and blocked her and Jaan. She said:
"Time and again, his love life has been discussed within media. I requested Sanu earlier to say something and put a stop to this when our elder son was getting engaged. He likes when his life is publicly discussed, be it negatively or in a positive light. He didn’t respond and blocked me and Jaan at that time. That was very insulting."
Rita claimed that she never wanted to separate from Kumar Sanu as she was a mother of two kids. But her husband rose to immense fame, and changed. She wasn't allowed to go to the parlour or get waxed. She added that he took her to court while he himself had an affair, referring to Kunickaa Sadanand's revelation of being in a live-in relationship with him. She said:
"He took me to court during my pregnancy. He even had an affair during that time, that came out today. And, he dragged I was very young at that time, I felt like my whole world crushed and my family was shocked."
