"Recently, when I tested positive for COVID-19, I was all alone. I was so weak and sick that I couldn’t go to the washroom by myself, but none of my sons bothered to ask about my health. Love can’t be just one-sided. It’s always two ways."

Kumar Sanu had also shared that Jaan's mom was playing the role of both mother and father. Kumar had revealed that he had appreciated the respect Jaan has for his mom and had told him to change his surname from Jaan Kumar Sanu to  Jaan Rita Bhattacharya. Kumar Sanu had given two reasons for the same. He feels that Rita has done a lot for Jaan, and secondly, if he keeps the surname Kumar, people will compare him to his dad, which may not be good for Jaan, as he is a newcomer.

For the unversed, Kumar Sanu was first married to Rita Bhattacharya back in the 1980s and then had three sons- Jiko, Jassi, and Jaan Kumar Sanu. The pair got divorced in 1994. During their strained marriage, Sanu was in a six-year-long relationship with Kunika Sadanand that had ended.
