Kourtney Kardashian firmly denied the rumors that Travis Barker was isolating her from the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. During the Season 8 premiere episode of The Kardashians on October 8, 2026, Kourtney addressed the speculation and admitted that she is indeed setting boundaries and keeping her distance from her family. However, she quickly clarified that it is entirely her choice and that Travis was not involved in any way.
Kourtney stated, "I'm doing it [isolating from family], it's definitely me." She added that Travis, with whom she shares 2-year-old son Rocky, is more naturally inclined to solitude, but he didn't try to mould his spouse like himself. The Lemme founder didn't share why she's been distancing herself from her high-profile family; however, she once told her sister, Khloe Kardashian, that she sometimes feels she can't relate to her family, and that, in turn, they don't try to relate to her.
Recently, the topic of the siblings' strained relations came up again when Kourtney got into a deep conversation with her friend Simon Huck regarding her husband and her strained relationship with her siblings. In The Kardashians season eight, Simon told her, "They think Travis has taken you," to which Kourtney quipped, "Like kidnapped me?" Simon clarified, "That, like, he's shielding you from the family...Which you are doing it."
At that time, Kourtney didn't deny maintaining distance from her family but defended Travis Barker, refuting his involvement. She then compared Travis to her ex and baby daddy, Scott Disick, pointing out the glaring difference between the two men's personalities. Regarding Travis, she stated that he likes to keep to himself and doesn't really get involved with her family.
Comparing Travis with Scott, she added that the former "doesn't need" the Kardashian-Jenners while the latter tried to become as close to them as the siblings are to each other. In her words:
"He's just a more introverted personality than what they're used to. He also, like, doesn't need them, where Scott, like, wants to be the sixth Kardashian sister."
Kourtney and Travis began dating around 2021, after crossing paths through mutual friends. Soon, they made their relationship Instagram official, and in 2022, the two tied the knot in Las Vegas. Kourtney and Travis had multiple wedding ceremonies, including a lavish celebration in Italy. Over the years, they have often spoken fondly about each other. Kourtney and Travis wanted to embrace parenthood; however, her miscarriage left them heartbroken.
Then she tried IVF but gave up after five failed procedures. After facing multiple pregnancy issues, the couple finally welcomed their son, Rocky, in November 2023. Today, they are parents to not just Rocky, but also Mason, Penelope, Reign, Landon, Alabama, and Atiana, whom they have from their previous relationships.
