KK's Wife, Jyothy Krishna Breaks Down As He Gets Gun Salute By West Bengal Police In Kolkata

Singer KK had taken his last breath on May 31, 2022, after performing at a concert in Kolkata. The singer was given gun salutes at Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata.

Indian singer, Krishnakumar Kunnath a.k.a. KK (the stage name), was known for his beautiful melodies, he had ruled every heart for the past three decades. Everyone had felt the pain when he had sung the song, 'Hum rahe ya na rahe kal, yaad aayege ye pal..', but who would have imagined that one day, the song will come true and he will be gone forever, and his fans will only have his memories.

In a shocking turn of events, the legendary singer, KK had taken his last breath on May 31, 2022, after performing at Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata, for Gurudas College's fest. A video had surfaced on the internet, wherein the singer was seen sweating profusely as the air conditioning wasn't working. After which, he had collapsed at the hotel, where he was staying.

In The Video: KK's last performance in Kolkata!

On June 1, 2022, KK's mortal remains were brought to Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata, where he was given tribute. The legendary singer got gun salutes from the West Bengal police as they paid their tribute, and CM, Mamta Banerjee also paid her last respect. In one of the heartbreaking visuals, KK's wife, Jyothy Krishna was seen crying inconsolably as she bid her final goodbye. The late singer, KK's mortal remains will be brought to Mumbai for last rites.

KK had made his singing debut with the album, Pal in the year 1999. After which, he had climbed up the ladder of success and had given hits after hits. The singer had tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart, Jyothy in the year 1991 before moving to Mumbai. The singer had met the love of his life when he was in the sixth standard and would sing Kishore Kumar's song to woo her.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, KK had revealed that he would sing songs all day at home and his wife, Jyothy would get irritated. The singer would then joke that there are numerous people waiting to listen to him and girls would even try to hold him whenever he sings at the concert.
