Kiara Advani is one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. She rose to fame with the sports biopic, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. She received wider acclaim through her role in the film, Kabir Singh. Currently, Kiara is living one of the best phases of her life. In her personal life, the Kabir Singh actress is a mother to her 11-month-old daughter, Saraayah Malhotra. In a recent conversation, Kiara opened up about her postpartum struggles and motherhood.
In a recent conversation with Raj Shamani, Kiara Advani got candid about the changes, both emotional and physical, after embracing motherhood. The M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story actress shared that after she gave birth to her daughter, Saraayah Malhotra, she has changed a lot as a person. Kiara mentioned that she has now accepted the change within herself post motherhood. She highlighted that now her life feels more meaningful and purposeful. Kiara added that now that she is a mother, before taking any decision, she always thinks of her daughter. In her words:
"Everything changes in you as a personality. I feel that before and after becoming a mum, I’m a completely different person in every way. And I’ve come to terms with it also. There’s so much more purpose in everything you do. I’m constantly thinking of leading an example for my daughter. What would my daughter feel if I did this?"
In the same interview, Kiara opened up about her postpartum struggles. Becoming teary-eyed, the Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups actress shared that postpartum has hit her both physically and emotionally. She mentioned that every mother should talk about their postpartum journey as every woman has a different story. Kiara recalled that after giving birth to Saraayah, she developed a skin problem out of the blue. She was quoted as saying:
"Postpartum should be something that’s spoken of much more. Everyone’s journey is different postpartum. It hits you in different ways physically and emotionally. A skin situation out of the blue. Earlier, it’d make me feel, ‘Oh my god! Why has this happened!’ But now in my life, nothing can stop me and I’ll continue to live. It’s such a new world. It’s taken me six months! Because you realise you’re doing so much for everyone else, you forget about the relationship you need to have with yourself, the things you need to tell yourself."
Kiara Advani is married to Bollywood actor, Sidharth Malhotra. For the uninitiated, Kiara and Sidharth tied the knot on February 7, 2023, in Jaisalmer's Suryagarh Palace. Following this, the couple hosted a lavish reception in Delhi and Mumbai. After two years of marital bliss, the duo welcomed their little princess, a baby girl, on July 15, 2025. Later, on July 17, 2025, the Shershaah actor took to his Instagram Stories to share a collaborative heartfelt note. The duo expressed gratitude to everyone for their warm wishes. In the note, they requested the media not to click pictures of their little one, only offering blessings to her. The note can be read as:
"We're so grateful for all the love and wishes, our hearts are truly full. As we take our first step into this new journey of parenthood, we hope to enjoy it intimately as a family. It would mean a lot to us if this special time could stay private. So, no photos please, only blessings. Thank you for your support. Love Kiara and Sidharth."
