Kevin Durant has once again found himself in the middle of trade rumours. According to reports, the Houston Rockets star might be leaving the team to join the USD 269 million All-Star premiere playmaker, Cade Cunningham, at the Detroit Pistons. As the buzz continues to grow, the attention has also shifted to Kevin's personal life. Well, as of now, it seems that Kevin has no plans to get married.

Kevin Durant claimed that he does not want to get married as he prefers ‘no expectations’

During an appearance on Bobby Althoff’s podcast, Not This Again, Kevin Durant was candid about what he wants in a relationship, saying he is “not actually looking for anything.” He also revealed that he has no plans to tie the knot.

When host, Bobby shared that 50 per cent of all marriages end in divorce, Kevin admitted that it is not good odds while also saying that divorce is actually more realistic. Hearing this, Bobby remarked that when it comes to playing basketball, the NBA star usually faces worse odds. Kevin fired back, saying that even then, “it's like banking on the rest, like forever though…I don't know if I want to take those odds.”

Kevin clarified that he isn't closing himself off to the idea of marriage. At least, not completely. He revealed that he is open-minded and added:

“I'm sure that may happen. I'm not closing the door or anything – but I'm not expecting it. That's all I'm saying...I never really dreamt of having a wedding day.”

During the same episode, Bobby asked Kevin if he would change his mind about wanting to be in a romantic relationship. In response, the basketball player replied that he's just looking for “the basics,” without any labels or “expectations.” He added:

“Oh, just somebody I can hang out with every day that I can talk to that's cool. You know, the basics. Somebody I could really be friends with, and not look at it as if, like, ‘You're my girlfriend,’ ‘I'm your boyfriend.’ Like that expectation, that title, that cloud that comes with that, instead of like, just us being natural friends. I’d rather that. No expectations is a little better for me, ‘cause sometimes I might not want to talk to you or see you.”

It is worth noting that Kevin Durant used to live with a romantic partner; however, things between them ended when they realised that they needed to go their separate ways and figure out if they wanted to remain friends and “still kick it.” To the Houston star, living together feels like a big commitment. This is because “combining your life with somebody on the day-to-day is crazy.”

Will Kevin Durant join the Detroit Pistons?

The question currently lingering in the minds of all Houston Rockets fans is whether the team will continue its partnership with Kevin Durant. But if they don't, Kevin could be looking to team up with Detroit Pistons star, Cade Cunningham. Recently, two league sources with knowledge of the situation opened up to Clutchpoints about how the Pistons are working to land Kevin Durant.

However, nothing has materialised yet in this three-team idea, nor has anything emerged in the brief discussions with Houston. But one thing that these trade rumours have led us to believe is that Kevin is interested in playing alongside Cade Cunningham.

It seems that some Detroit fans are already on board with the idea of Kevin joining the team, with one user writing, “I honestly wouldn't mind KD in Detroit because he absolutely wouldn't have to be a leader at all, just show up and get buckets lol.” Another wrote, “If it'd work anywhere, it'd probably be in Detroit. The future is immaculate. He brings shooting, veteran experience, and secondary ball-handling and creation that we all desperately need. We have a hard-ass coach and a proven leader already.”

What are your thoughts on Kevin Durant seemingly being interested in joining the Detroit Pistons?
