What looked like an accident on Pune's Lohagad Fort was a murder plot planned by Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary. Well, it was Chetan's hoodie that helped the Pune Rural Police crack the case that Ketan did not die by an accidental fall at Pune’s Lohagad Fort.
According to the Pune Rural Police, Ketan Agarwal's fall initially appeared to be an accident. However, after Ketan's family revealed recent disputes, along with intelligence inputs and technical evidence, the picture suggested something else. The two then pushed Agarwal off the cliff, resulting in his death. There was a security camera that saw Chetan in a hoodie, in the heat. The cops scanned the CCTV footage from the roads leading to the fort and saw a young man following the pair's vehicle.
An investigator in a statement to the Indian Express revealed that on the day of the incident, Goyal and Agarwal climbed the fort. Chaudhary, who had already reached the fort premises, went after them. Call detail records also suspect foul play. Well, officers found Chetan following Siya and Ketan's vehicle, wearing a hoodie, which seemed odd given the hot weather. The investigating officer noted:
"A security camera has spotted a suspect in a hoodie climbing the fort after Goyal and Agarwal climbed the fort by stairs. As it was established that it was Chaudhary trying to hide his face and that he was present at Lohagad Fort at the time of the incident, the probe took a different turn. We found that Chaudhary kept his phone at home to avoid being tracked. He carried the phone of a staffer and was in contact with Goyal on WhatsApp. This shows premeditated attempts to mislead the probe and a well-planned murder conspiracy."
The investigating officer further revealed that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary pushed Agarwal off the cliff, resulting in his death. After the fall, Goyal started screaming, which had alerted security guards at Lohagad fort. Siya had also made a distressed call to the Agarwal family. Soon, the family reached the fort, and the body was handed over to them after the post-mortem. Soon later, the police team had started recording the sequence of events and statements.
The cops had revealed that Siya Goyal and Ketan Aggarwal's marriage was arranged by their families. Both had initially agreed to the marriage, and preparations for it were underway. A grand wedding was to take place in Jaipur, at the end of the year and special flights were booked. Now, the cops have also figured out that Siya was in a relationship with another man called Chetan. She did not want to proceed with Ketan and hence with Chetan she eliminated hm, as he was an obstacle in her marriage.
The cops had found a lot of discrepancies in the statements given to them, and later Siya had confessed to her participation in the crime. The cops cracked the case due to Chetan's movements in a hoodie and the CCTV clippings that played a crucial role in the alleged murder case of Ketan. For the unversed, Siya, aged 20, is a Commerce student and reportedly an aspiring baker, while Chetan was a BBA student and is aged 22.
