However, the narrative has now shifted from an accident to an evil plot by his own fiancee and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary. While both have been arrested and are currently in police custody, Chetan's lawyer has claimed that the police have no concrete proof of his link to the case.
Ketan Agarwal's fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, were arrested in the former's murder case and taken into police custody until June 29, 2026. However, while the family is convinced that foul play was involved in their young son's death, Chetan's lawyer, Ram Sahane, has made a claim that has given the entire case a new direction. He has alleged that the FIR against his client contains no direct allegations or concrete evidence against Chetan Chaudhary, the accused in this case.
Speaking to the media, Chetan Chaudhary's lawyer, Ram Sahane, alleged that Chaudhary has been included in the case solely because he is a friend of late Ketan Agarwal's fiancee, Siya Goyal. He further claimed that the investigating agencies have not yet presented any documents or evidence to the court that prove that Chetan was present in the Lohagarh area at the time of the incident.
The police had requested that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary be granted seven days' police custody. According to reports, the authorities had requested that the court interrogate both accused to piece together the truth. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court ordered Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan, to be remanded in police custody until June 29, 2026. After the hearing, the defence lawyer spoke to the media and stated that the prosecution is calling the incident a case of murder and conspiracy, while the defence maintains that it was an accidental death.
The defence also claimed that the police initially considered it an accident and filed a case under that category, but later changed it to murder. For the unversed, Ketan Agarwal's death case was initially being looked at as a tragic accident. However, it was four days after his funeral that Siya Goyal visited his home; his sister grew suspicious of her when she noticed several inconsistencies in her story.
Ketan Agarwal got engaged to Siya Goyal earlier this year, in February 2026, and the couple was set to marry later this year, in November 2026. The families of both parties were planning a lavish wedding in Jaipur and had even booked a luxurious palace in Jaipur for the wedding, costing Rs. 17 crore. Furthermore, two special chartered planes were also arranged for the wedding guests. However, months before their big day, Ketan died under suspicious circumstances after falling from Lohagad Fort on June 18, 2026.
While the family initially thought that the incident was an accident, they soon grew suspicious of their late son, Ketan Agarwal's fiancee, Siya Goyal. Following this, police arrested Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary. Initial investigations revealed that Siya had known Chetan for a year and that they had conspired to commit the crime. Police claim that Chetan was present at the fort on the day of the incident.
