Kendra and Joseph Duggar have been making headlines for the charges against them. The couple has been facing the wrath of the audience that once followed them for their explicit and criminal conduct. However, Kendra is now back in the headlines, as footage of her being booked at the Washington County Detention Centre has made the rounds online.
It was on March 24, 2026 (ET), when PEOPLE shared a video of a calm and collected Kendra Duggar being booked into custody at the Washington County Detention Centre. According to the outlet, she was booked on March 20, 2026, after she was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree by the Tontitown Police Department earlier on Friday. Kendra and Joseph Duggar will appear in their first court hearing on April 29, 2026 (ET), as the investigation into their charges continues.
According to footage obtained by PEOPLE, Kendra arrived at the jail around 5 p.m., accompanied by a group of Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies and other suspects. However, unlike her husband, who was wearing a belt and his wedding ring at the time of his arrest, Kendra arrived at the facility in jeans and a loose brown t-shirt. Additionally, it appeared that she had also left he jewellery, including her wedding ring, at home.
What surprised the officers was how quickly Kendra moved through the process, as she was booked into custody in less than four minutes, with one of her supervisors asking at one point: "Are we done with her?" After the search, Kendra was moved to another room, where she sat alone for a while. She was released less than 90 minutes later after posting her USD 1,470 bail; however, her husband remains behind bars at the same facility.
Joseph was arrested two days prior on a warrant out of Bay County, which charged the father of four with lewd and lascivious behaviour-molestation of a victim less than 12 years old, and lewd and lascivious behaviour conducted by a person 18 years or older. On the other hand, Kendra was charged following a joint search of her home by the Arkansas Department of Human Services and the Tontitown Police Department.
According to reports, the "alleged crime" for which Joseph was arrested included the sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl, which he allegedly confessed to while speaking with the girl's father on March 17, 2026 (ET). The girl is now 14 years old and in a forensic interview with BCSO claimed that during a 2020 family vacation in Panama Beach City, Duggar "asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket," then "manipulated the victim's underwear and grazed her genitals." The statement by BCSO further revealed that the girl alleged he "would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs."
For the unversed, Joseph Duggar was 13 years old when he started appearing on the TLC reality series, 17 Kids and Counting, about his family, who are devout Independent Baptists. TLC cancelled the series in 2015 after claims surfaced that the eldest Duggar child, Josh, had molested 4 of his sisters when they were children. In 2021, a federal jury convicted him of receiving and possessing material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct after prosecutors presented evidence that he had "repeatedly downloaded and viewed images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, including images of prepubescent children and depictions of sadistic abuse."
