While people are easily judging Sydney, volleyball star Kayla Simmons came in support of the actress by flaunting lingerie.
It takes immense courage to stand up against something wrong. And we do not often see women supporting women. However, volleyball star Kayla Simmons took to her Instagram handle and shared a bold post. She flaunted her curves in lingerie. On top of that, she wrote:
"I hope the next female trend is becoming completely uninterested in tearing another woman down online."
Sharing her thoughts in the caption, Kayla revealed that the ad doesn't set back women in sports. She stated that the advertisement is not a setback for women in sports. She called out the hypocrisy in forcing women into a box to be considered respectable. She wrote:
"Sydney Sweeney's gambling ad doesn’t set back women in sports. There is a deep hypocrisy in forcing women into a box to be considered “respectable.” It used to be traditional dress codes calling a woman’s shape a distraction. Today, it is online mobs telling her to minimize her appeal under the guise of “activism.” That isn’t progress—it’s just a new version of the same old control."
Kayla further sided with Sydney and shared that people are ignoring that she is a talented actress, business owner, and executive. She stated that people have erased all her achievements just because she featured in the ad. Kayla added that if they want to empower women, they should show up to games and celebrate their accomplishments. She wrote:
"What’s wild is completely ignoring that she is a talented actress, business owner, and executive. The moment a woman uses her appeal to her advantage, society acts like her achievements are erased. If you want to empower women in sports, then buy the tickets, show up to games, and celebrate their accomplishments. Hopping on a trend to bash a woman isn’t empowerment, and we can easily celebrate athletes without shaming a woman who chooses to embrace how she looks and use it however she wants."
The netizens applauded Kayla's brave move as she stood up for Sydney. However, not everyone appreciated Sydney. Recently, Sharon Stone dissed Sydney Sweeney. Referring to their Euphoria scene, Sharon stated that she asked Sydney's character to stop filming risque content and instead work on the movie. She said:
"In Euphoria, I tried to get Sydney Sweeney's character to stop being a cam girl and to come and work for me on the series I was producing called LA Nights. And she agreed to stop being a cam girl- which she didn't do...As you can see from Sydney's new lingerie line, it didn't."
Sydney Sweeney is a famous American actress and producer. She is popularly known for her roles in Euphoria, The White Lotus, and Anyone But You, which gained her a massive recognition. Sydney often gets trolled for her changed look over the years. Sydney, who began acting as a child, slammed the social media users who often use her old pictures, comparing them with her recent ones to claim she had undergone cosmetic treatment.
