Kavya Gowda, a famous name in the Kannada film industry, has been going through the toughest time of her life as her husband was stabbed. Kavya, who got married to Somashekar on December 2, 2021. The couple is blessed with a two-year-old daughter. Recently, their family has been in the headlines due to a family dispute, and amidst it, Somashekar was stab**d by his own brother. Kavya is a famous Kannada actress who got married to Somashekar in 2021. Her husband is a businessman, and as per reports, he has a real estate business. The family is fighting over a family property in Bengaluru's KR Puram, and it is valued at nearly Rs. 100 crore.
Kavya and Somashekar's family is disputing over the family property. Somashekar lives with his elder brother, Nandish and his wife, Prema. The tension in the family has been going on for several years. However, the dispute escalated into a verbal and physical altercation on January 26, 2026, between Prema, her sister Priya, and her father, Ravikumar. After which, Kavya filed a complaint against the trio.
However, Kavya's sister-in-law, Prema has a different version of the story. She revealed that Kavya and her husband, Somasekhar live with them under the same roof, but they have a different floor. The family dispute escalated when the actress' worker entered her kitchen area. Prema also made serious allegations against Kavya and stated that she abused and physically ass***ted. She even claimed that slippers were thrown at her. She even claimed that her belongings were used while she wasn't in the city.
As per Kavya her husband was stabbed with a knife. Somashekar was soon rushed to a private hospital, and he is undergoing treatment. Doctors revealed that his condition is stable and he is out of danger. However, he is still in the hospital. Also, Kavya's sister-in-law, Prema's relatives, claimed that Kavya Gowda's family provoked and ass***ted them. The content of the complaints is being examined, and investigations are underway.
In an interview with The Times of India, Kavya Gowda revealed that she didn't want to speak about her personal life in public, but she was left with no choice. She revealed that the dispute started after she hired a woman named Suma as a caretaker for her two-year-old daughter. She shared that the family members falsely accused her of theft. Kavya added that when allegations were levied against her, it was her duty to defend herself. She added that their home is under CCTV surveillance, and the family claimed that the theft happened in the living room, where no one keeps the jewellery.
Kavya further revealed that on January 26, 2026, her daughter was eating grapes when the family again referred to her caretaker as a thief. She added that soon things escalated to the point that they even tried to raise a hand against her two-year-old daughter, Kavya. She said:
"I remained quiet until then because my father-in-law had earlier advised me to let it go. But when they tried to raise a hand against my little daughter, I could not stay silent. No mother would accept that. At that moment, I realised this could not be ignored."
Kavya added that later that evening, Ravi Kumar, along with other family members, attacked her with sticks, after which the situation turned violent. She even made a serious claim that Ravi Kumar threatened to r**e and kill her and cited that he had a political connection. She added that her husband was stab**d by Priya and Ravi Kumar. She thanked god that her husband is out of danger.
