As the 25-year-old Katie Bates is dealing with the loss of an unborn child, her husband, Travis Clark, confessed he cheated on her and had an extra-marital affairs while she was pregnant.
Bringing Up Bates star, Katie Bates is dealing with the devastating loss of her miscarriage. Amidst it, Travis Clark made a shocking confession about cheating on her while she was pregnant. While he apologised publicly to Katie, she has not yet responded to his revelation. She must be going through the toughest chapter of her life.
On January 17, 2025, Travis took to his Instagram handle and shared a story wherein he confessed to his infidelity. In his note, Travis accepted that he owes an apology to his wife and confessed that he was unfaithful to her. He stated that he had an affair and repeatedly broke Katie's trust. Travis added that there is no excuse for what he did, and he takes responsibility for it. He wrote:
"This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone."
Travis further added how his words alone cannot heal the damage he had caused, and the hurt he brought into Katie's life. He apologised for the pain, humiliation and betrayal his choices caused to his wife. Travis knows that an apology won't be enough as his betrayal has done irreparable damage to their marriage. He added that he wants to take responsibility and work on himself. He even requested privacy for his wife as she deals with the toughest phase in her own time. He wrote:
"I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry. I’m sorry for the pain, humiliation, and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices. I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for. I am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of outcome. I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time."
The 24-year-old Travis, who is a nursing student, confessed to cheating after fans noticed that the couple's marriage had hit a rough patch. Over the past few weeks, fans noticed Travis was absent from his wife's social media handle. Some even claimed that Katie unfollowed several of her husband, Travis' female nursing school classmates. It seems like all these speculations and judgments forced Travis to confess that he cheated on his pregnant wife.
It is worth noting that Travis revealed he had extra-marital affair, after Katie announced the heartbreaking news of losing the couple's third baby. On January 16, 2025, Katie took to her Instagram and shared a video which documented her pregnancy journey. Along with it, she wrote that she would be spending the rest of her life missing the baby. In the clip, a voiceover revealed that she would keep asking 'why' to God and would never understand the reason he gives for taking her child away. The voiceover said:
"I will ask God why for the rest of my life. And never will I come to understand it. Even if God himself came in front of me and told me the reason, I don’t think I will accept it."
The video shows Katie picking baby clothes after announcing her pregnancy to Travis. It also showed a glimpse of when she lost her child in the hospital. The audio stated that some loves are too hard to bear, and with great love comes great pain. And if love could have saved her child, she would have lived forever.
Katie and Travis got married in December 2021. The couple is blessed with two children, one daughter named Hailey, and a son named Harvey. Katie is famously known for being part of her family's UPtv reality series, Bringing Up Bates, which documents her parents, Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and their 19 children for over 10 seasons.
