Kate Mansi, one of the well-known characters of General Hospital, is going to leave the show after three years. Kate joined the show in 2023 and took over the role of 'Kristina Corinthos-Davis', for which she also got an Emmy nomination in 2025, in the category of Best Supporting Actress. Her character in the show held significance, and she won hearts with her portrayals in the show. As Kate Mansi announced that she's going to leave the show, her fans remained heartbroken. Why did Kate Mansi leave General Hospital after 3 years?

Recently, Kate Mansi sat for an interview with TV Insider's Stephanie Sloane and revealed the reason for her quitting General Hospital after three years. The actress revealed that it was a very hard decision for her, and she had to take it because she has several projects that need her undivided attention. In the same interview, Kate Mansi shared that she and her husband, Matt Mclnnis are currently producing a series of filming, in abroad, which will require her flexibility to travel while developing and working in LA. She could be quoted as saying:

"I have a few new projects that require my full attention, and with my husband [Matt McInnis] currently producing a series filming primarily abroad, I needed the flexibility to travel while continuing to develop and work in Los Angeles.”

Kate Mansi speaks about her role in General Hospital

In the same interview, the actress talked about her role in the show. Kate Mansi played the role of 'Kristina Corinthos-Davis', daughter of mob kingpin Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard ) and his former attorney, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). There are several stories included in her character, and she nailed it all. One of the major stories was when she became the surrogate mother for her sister's kid; however, the story became twisted when she lost her baby after falling into a pool. She also has a centre that supports LGBTQ+, while there's also her complicated romance angle with 'Blaze'.

Speaking about her character, Kate Mansi, in the recent interview, said that the two things that resonated with her while she was offered the show were her queer support for LGBTQ+ and an opportunity to share the endometriosis storyline. Speaking how these two things mattered to her, and the fact that she got to direct, was an icing on the cake, but right now, its time for her to move on and take new adventures into action. She said:

“When Frank first approached me about the role, two things deeply resonated with me: the opportunity to show my support for the queer community by playing an LGBTQ+ character, and to help tell an endometriosis storyline. Together, I truly feel we honored both of those stories in a way that mattered. And the fact that I got to direct was simply the icing on the cake! Now, it feels like the right time for both Kristina and me to step into new adventures.”

For the unversed, before her exit from the show, which will be shown in June 2026, Kate Mansi got to direct an episode of the show, wherein the character would speak about her endometriosis. For the unversed, Kate was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2015, and she opened up about the pain she had to endure. Later, her stepdad, who is an OB-GYN, operated on her, being frustrated over her medical care, and it worked out for the best, as the actress felt it saved her life. In the show, not she, but her on-screen sister 'Molly' had the condition.

Kate Mansi's salary from General Hospital

As Kate Mansi is leaving the show, her fans have been wanting to know more about her, including her salary. To mention, this hasn't been publicly disclosed. Well, several reports, the standard SAG-AFTRA network contracts for daytime television estimated her earnings from the show as USD 3K-5K per episode. However, it's not confirmed.
