On October 8, 2020, Kartik took to his Instagram handle and shared a video of playing table tennis with his sister. In the video, we can see Kartik and Kritika giving their best, but in the end the latter wins the game. On April 1, 2020, Kartik's sister had turned a year older, and the actor had donned a baker's hat and had baked a special cake for her. While his attempt was appreciated but the cake had turned out to be a big biscuit according to Kartik. He had shared pictures on his Instagram handle, and had written, "Lockdown ka fayda - Celebrating Kittu’s bday together after 7 years. In the year 2018, Kartik had gotten the chance to celebrate Rakshabandhan with his sister, Kritika after so many years. In an interview with the National Herald, Kartik had talked about the emotional moment and had shared, "I am in my home-town Gwalior. After six years I am in my home-town for Raksha Bandhan, and that too for work. I’m shooting for Dinesh Vijeyan’s Lukka Chuppi with Kriti Sanon in Gwalior. This is a rare chance I’ve to be home with my sister for Raksha Bandhan."
However, this year, Kartik was able to celebrate Rakshabandhan with his sister, thanks to the quarantine. He had taken to his IG handle and had shared pictures of the same. Alongside it, he had written, "Jab behen doctor ho toh Raksha ki zimmedari bhi uski. @dr.keki_ blessing me. Happy Rakshabandhan Everyone", followed by a heart emoji.
