Karoline Leavitt made a shocking remark about the US Military draft amid the Iran War. But there is a strong backlash as no one wants to go down the lane.
The world is facing the toughest times amid the Iran-US war. In these testing times, people are losing their lives with no fault of their own. Amidst it, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt sparked major controversy with her remark on the war. She talked about the possibility of a US military draft amid the difficult situation.
Karoline made a startling remark during a televised interview amid a war-like situation. She stated that the military draft is not part of the government's plan, but the president would not remove any military options. For the unversed, the military draft is the enrollment of young individuals in a nation's armed forces. It is primarily used during wars.
Karoline Leavitt's strong remark amid the war situation drew a lot of criticism. Former Republican congresswoman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, openly slammed her and also highlighted how the people of the US have been betrayed due to the false promise of avoiding wars on foreign land. Taking to social media, she slammed and openly denied sending young boys and girls overseas for war.
She shared a series of posts and shared that the move is unacceptable for families, as they do not want war. Her remarks show how people have different views on the situation. She stated she is not ready to send her son to war and that they have to do it over her dead body. She wrote:
“How about the answer is no draft and no boots on the ground because we campaigned on no more foreign wars or regime change! Liars every single one of them! Not my son, over my dead body! By the way a bunch of psycho Republicans want to not only draft your sons but your daughters too! Send Lindsey Graham, Mark Levin, and Laura Loomer and ALL the murderous blood thirsty maniacs that support this America LAST WAR."
Recently, in an interview with Maria Bartiromo, Karoline Leavitt talked about the possibility of seeing American boots on the ground in the Middle East as the campaign develops. Bartiromo revealed that mothers are worried about sending their sons to war. Bartiromo said:
"Mothers out there are worried that we’re going to have a draft, that they’re going to see their sons and daughters get involved in this."
The secretary stated that it has been and it will continue to be, and President Trump wisely does not remove the option from the table. She added that a lot of people want to do it quickly. She was quoted as saying:
"It has been, and it will continue to be. President Trump wisely does not remove options off of the table. I know a lot of politicians like to do that quickly, but the president as commander-in-chief wants to continue to assess the success of this military operation. It’s not part of the current plan right now, but the president, again, wisely keeps his options on the table."
What do you think about this big statement by Karoline Leavitt and former Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene's counterremark?
