Karisma Kapoor And Sunjay Kapur's Daughter, Samaira's Fee Is 'Fully Paid' Claims Priya To Delhi HC

Priya Kapur's lawyer has responded sternly to every allegation made against the late businessman's wife in the past month.

The legal battle over the inheritance of the late businessman, Sunjay Kapur, has intensified in the Delhi High Court, with new pleas being filed every few weeks. It all started when Sunjay and Karisma Kapoor's two children, Kiaan and Samaira, filed a lawsuit against the widow, Priya Kapur, alleging that she forged his will following his death in June 2025. And now, the latter has responded to the allegations made against her in the past month.

Priya Kapur claims Samaira Kapur's fee has been paid in full

Amid the ongoing legal battle over the industrialist, Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 crore inheritance, his widow, Priya Kapur, has informed the Delhi High Court that, contrary to allegations made against her, the school fees of Karisma Kapoor's daughter, Samaira, have been paid. According to recent Law Beat reports, Senior Advocate Shyel Trehan appeared on behalf of Priya and made a submission before Justice Jyoti Singh during the hearing. During the recent hearing, Senior Advocate Shyel Trehan responded to an argument made by counsel representing Karisma Kapoor and her children.

Karisma Kapoor's lawyer had claimed that Sunjay's daughter, Samaira's two months' fees of Rs. 95 lakh remained unpaid. Priya Kapur's lawyer called the allegations "factually incorrect" and told the court that Karisma's daughter, Samaira's, semester fees have already been paid. The senior lawyer also claimed that Priya had been independently bearing all educational and living expenses of the children since Sunjay Kapur's death on June 12, 2025. The lawyer also produced a payment receipt of Rs. 95 lakh and informed the court that the next installment is due in December 2025.

Priya Kapur's lawyer also responded to the allegations made by Rani Kapur

The report comes a day after Priya Kapur's lawyer, Rajiv Nayar, slammed late businessman Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur, and called her allegations of concealing the late industrialist's assets "baseless and reckless". He was quoted as saying:

"I have filed a detailed list of assets, and every transaction is in the list of assets. No money has been moved abroad."

Priya Kapur's legal team also addressed Rani Kapur's allegations about Sunjay Kapur's salary. For the unversed, Rani's lawyer has earlier expressed their distrust in Priya's claims, stating that Sunjay Kapur's salary has been altered in the documents submitted to the court. Rani claimed that Sunjay was getting a salary of Rs. 60 crores. Responding to the same, Priya's lawyer stated:

"Mr Kapur was a director (in AIPL0 for the year 2023-24 when he received a salary of Rs. 10 crore for that financial year. For that financial year, he also received a one-time bonus of Rs. 50 crore. Out of that, a TDS of Rs. 23.5 crore was deducted, and he got Rs. 36.5 crore in hand. Out of that, Rs. 28.5 crore was spent on the purchase of immovable assets, properties in London."

Ever since businessman Sunjay Kapur's death, his family has been fighting over his will and assets. Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira and Kiaan, have approached the Delhi High Court seeking a share in their late father, Sunjay's assets. In their petition, the two children claimed that their stepmother, Priya Sachdev, forged Sunjay's will. During a recent hearing, the children also filed a new petition against Priya seeking to stop her from altering any of Sunjay's assets until the matter is resolved.
