Josh Duhamel was once madly-in-love with Fergie, whom he met during the filming of Black Eyed Peas. The couple's professional association soon blossomed into love, and they started dating in 2004. After three years of relationship, they chose to level up, and in 2007, they got engaged, and in 2009, Josh and Fergie tied the knot. But their marriage didn't last long. After celebrating their eighth anniversary together, they separated in 2017.
In 2019, Josh and Fergie's divorce was finalised. But their fans were left devastated. Over the course of time, there have been a lot of theories about their separation. Some even believed that Josh cheated on his ex-wife in the first year of his marriage. Read on to know all about it.
Josh Duhamel and Fergie were together for 13 years, but their marriage lasted only eight years. Josh, in an interview with The Skinny Confidential podcast, shared the reason behind their split. He stated that the two parted ways due to different views. They were extremely different, and they had different views of the world, which was okay. He said:
"We’re just very different. She and I just have different views of the world, and that’s OK."
Josh Duhamel further clarified that he has no regrets about his unsuccessful first marriage. The two share an adorable son, who is 12 years old. He even compared his first wife to his second wife and stated that they are extremely different yet are both really amazing women. He further revealed that he shares an amazing relationship with his ex-wife. Not only does Fergie share a warm bond with Audra.
For those who don't know, Josh and Fergie got married at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, California, on January 10, 2009. Fergie was dressed up in a Dolce and Gabbana gown. And they said their vows underneath magnolia trees, which were filled with several white roses. The celebrations were attended by Black Eyed Peas bandmates, Kate Hudson, Mario Lopez and more.
However, the couple's happily-ever-after didn't last long as Nicole Forrester, a dancer from Atlanta, claimed that she slept with Dhumel. This happened within a few months of Fergie and Josh's wedding. Nicole's claims grabbed a lot of eyeballs, but Josh Duhamel denied it all. He shared that she was given a large amount of money to sell a false story about him. He was quoted as saying:
"This is not the first, nor will it be the last, time that a stripper was paid a large amount of money to sell a false story about a celebrity. This story is absolutely ridiculous."
But Nicole kept giving detailed interviews about the night she had her alleged encounter with Josh. She stated that he came by and she gave him a dance. A few days later, he contacted her again, and they met at a hotel in Atlanta. After which they slept together, and the stip club's manager also confirmed it. As per a report by People, Fergie was upset with these allegations about her husband cheating on her. The source added that this left the couple in pain as they are deeply devoted to each other. But they are going to work through this phase. The source shared:
"She's certainly disappointed with all the rumors about cheating. It hurts. They're both very devoted to each other, so they'll work through whatever issues they have, but it's not easy."
After the couple's first year was plagued by a devastating scandal, Fergie and Josh chose to renew their wedding vows in 2010 in a private ceremony. The two even thought of doing the wedding vow renewal every year. It was an emotional moment for the two.
