The seventh kid of the famous Duggar family from the popular TLC series 19 Kids and Counting is facing serious charges of child molestation after he allegedly admitted to making lascivious and vulgar advances at a nine-year-old child during a 2020 family vacation.
With his arrest making headlines, the new footage has raised questions about Joseph's chill demeanour, leaving people wondering if something seriously messed up had happened in his childhood, given the family's scandalous past and questionable parenting.
The footage was recorded on March 18, 2026, at the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas, where Joseph is currently kept. The video begins with an official doing the routine pat-down and search of Joseph, who is facing towards the wall, handing over his personal belongings as part of the intake process. At one point, when asked if he had ever been to the facility before, Joseph reportedly joked, "Not on this side," while laughing.
As the intake process continues, the 31-year-old is seen removing items like his shoes, belt, hat, and eventually his wedding ring as he sits on a bench and lightheartedly interacts with the officials present. He is then officially booked into custody. His lighthearted tone has triggered a flurry of reactions online.
The video footage also captures a brief exchange where Joseph mentions his older brother, Josh Duggar, who is currently serving his sentence as a convicted child predator. While he didn't mention his name directly, he noted that Josh continues to be behind bars and is serving a "hard time", which clearly alluded to his 2021 conviction.
For those unaware, Josh Duggar, the oldest child of the Duggar family, was convicted in 2021 for his years of predatory behaviour. He had previously faced allegations involving inappropriate behavior toward his sisters and was later convicted on charges related to receiving and possessing explicit material involving minors. Now 38, Josh is serving a 12-year federal prison sentence in Texas.

Joseph Duggar was arrested on March 18, 2026, on charges of "lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor". According to a statement from the Bay County Sheriff's Office, Duggar was allegedly involved in a series of unlawful sexual activities with a then-nine-year-old minor during a 2020 family vacation in Florida. The authorities said in their statement:
“The 14-year-old victim participated in a forensic interview, where she disclosed several incidents involving Duggar that occurred during a family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was 9-years-old."
The victim, now 14, disclosed multiple incidents during the forensic interview, detailing disturbing and inappropriate behaviour, including inappropriate physical contact in private. The victim's father reportedly confronted Joseph Duggar about his daughter's allegations, and he "allegedly admitted his actions to the father and Tontitown detectives."
Joseph's first court hearing took place on Friday, March 20, 2026 (ET), where he appeared virtually via Zoom. He has reportedly waived his rights to an extradition hearing and will be transferred from Arkansas to Florida, where he will face child molestation charges. New reports reveal that Joseph's wife, Kendra Duggar, has also been taken into custody.
