Now, a while back, Joni's Daystar Television Network broadcast a special tribute edition of her flagship program, Ministry Now, titled The Sound of Heaven Honouring Joni Lamb. The tribute episode aired after Joni's death on May 7, 2026, at age 65.
The special live broadcast in remembrance of Joni Lamb showcased her years of work with Daystar. The program was less like a TV broadcast and more like Joni's ideas on worship, remembrance, and guests pouring their hearts out. The special broadcast had old videos of Joni singing in a choir. However, her fans in the live video could not stop missing Joni. A user wrote, "What a privilege to honour Joanie in song, she was an inspiration to me, will miss her. Lord, have mercy on our souls, oh Lord God almighty. I feel like I lost a family member. I am grieving with you all. I may never understand your loss, but my heart is sad too. My heart hurts for her kids. I know what it’s like to lose parents young. Just take heart, your parents are together in eternity."
An upset user had also said, "Joni, your death really shocked my heart when I saw it flash on my phone screen. I immediately reached for my phone in disbelief. hoping it was a scam or mistaken news. I hope the siblings will unite! Nothing will honour their deceased parents as being one unit. They need to put all their problems behind them and start anew. If God gives us a new beginning, why can’t they do it to each other?"
Joni Lamb's friend, Jentezen Franklin, opened the episode and grieved with fans over Joni's death. Jentezen started off by saying hello to the Daystar family and shared that many of them may have heard the heartbreaking news of Joni's death. The president and co-founder of Daystar Television Network, has gone on to be with the Lord. Joni Lamb's buddy, Jentezen Franklin, also noted that when he and his family heard the news, they were devastated. He revealed knowing the Lambs for over 40 years, and they have seen 'God' use them to reach multitudes, millions of souls. That particular thing will never ever stop.
Joni Lamb's friend, Jentezen Franklin, assured her fans that the network will continue to carry on Joni's message as she wanted. Jentezen ensured that all regular programming at Daystar will continue as scheduled, just like Joni would want. He assured her fans that they will still be able to find the encouragement, the ministry, the support, the love that you’ve come to expect from this great network.
Franklin further spoke about his friend, Joni, who had revealed that she would always be remembered. Her legacy will be honoured as she was a champion for the Lord. Franklin revealed that Joni was a velvet brick who loved God, loved people tenderly, but she would fight for right to the core. Her friend further added:
“But we also know that she would want us to put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. She loved worship. She loved bringing glory to the Lord. It was her favorite thing, leading people into the presence of God through singing and worship so they could have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.
Joni Lamb's fans in the comments section of her tribute video have offered condolences to her bereaved family and appreciated her decades of service. There was one fan who was bereaved, and the heart went out for her family. The user wrote, "My deepest condolences and sympathy for the loss of the family. I watched and have their music. Joni rest in peace and power." As seen in the tribute video, Joni's life was celebrated for her commitment to the programme.
A sad user had written, "I remember when I used to watch Daystar TV when it was only Christian songs and images of landscapes and flowing rivers after I came back from school. It was the only Christian channel my analogue TV tuned into at the time, and I was just content watching Daystar TV's landscapes and songs; I even learned about 4 beautiful songs I still use today to worship. I thank you and Marcus for your service; God bless you and the family you left behind."
