Mother's Day turned out to be emotional for Joni Lamb's family, just days after her death at the age of 65. The Daystar Television Network founder's death has not only left the Christian media world in grief, but also brought public attention to her family. Joni died on May 7, 2026, after a private health battle. Although the network confirmed her death in an official statement, they did not gave additional details to the public. Meanwhile, the Mother's Day posts from her family members have quickly caught the public's attention.

Joni Lamb's daughter-in-law, Suzy, shares Mother's Day post

After Joni Lamb's death, her only daughter-in-law, Suzy, claimed on social media that their side of the family was allegedly not informed about Joni's final moments. Suzy is married to the Daystar Network President's only son, Jonathan. She also mentioned that she and her husband were unable to bid Joni farewell, but they had forgiven Joni. In turn, she thanked supporters for praying for her family. Eventually, things became more complex when Suzy shared a heartfelt Mother's Day tribute to her mother, Tanuja Sagar.

Suzy Lamb praised her mother for shaping her family. However, she did not mention Joni Lamb in the post. It further led to speculations about existing tensions in the family. For those unaware, the tensions began when Suzy and Jonathan claimed that a close family member assaulted their young daughter, but Joni refused the same. In fact, Jonathan also accused her of removing him from Daystar for personal reasons but Joni denied that too.

Meanwhile, social media users also revisited one of Joni's 2025 Mother's Day posts. She had shared a loving tribute to her own mother on Instagram. In the post, Joni described her mother as one of her "greatest encouragers" and someone who made her "laugh and smile every day.

According to multiple financial Reports published before Joni Lamb's death, her estimated net worth has been around USD 40 million. The majority of the wealth came from her leadership role at Daystar. It was founded by Joni Lamb and her first husband, Marcus Lamb, in 1993. Eventually, Daystar rose from being a local station to a global broadcasting mogul. It began to reach millions of people through cable, satellite, and streaming services. According to industry analysts, Daystar's growth played a significant role in increasing Joni's wealth over the past three decades.

At the same time, Joni Lamb earned substantial income from her books and speaking engagements. She authored faith-based books such as Surrender All and Heart for the World. Meanwhile, some reports also hint at her large real estate portfolio in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, valued at USD 12 million combined. It includes a USD 2.9 million Colleyville mansion, a USD 3.9 million Texas home under construction, a USD 2.9 million Florida beachfront property, and others. 

How exactly did Joni Lamb die?

According to the official statement released by Daystar TV network, Joni Lamb was privately battling serious health problems. Recently, she also suffered a back injury, which worsened her health in her final days. Eventually, despite medical treatment and constant prayers from her supporters across the world, she died on May 7, 2026. The ministry confirmed her death and described her passing as "going home to be with the Lord". Joni is survived by her husband, Doug Weiss, and her three children, Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca.
