Makeup artist, Alexis Stone, might have indicated that he was Jim Carrey's clone at the 2026 Cesar Awards amid the buzz around the actor's changed face.
Legendary Canadian-American actor, Jim Carrey has been grabbing the spotlight ever since he made his first public appearance with his much-younger girlfriend, Min Ah (also referred to as Minzi), at the 51st César Awards on February 26, 2026. During the ceremony, Jim received an Honorary Prize and, in his acceptance speech, he publicly acknowledged his ladylove for the first time. Besides Jim's girlfriend, his unrecognisable, youthful appearance has been making headlines, with theories of a body double replacing him. Amid that, a reputed makeup artist claimed to have attended the event in the actor's place.
Famous transformative makeup artist, Alexis Stone, claimed to have impersonated Jim Carrey during the actor's appearance at the 2026 César Film Awards at L'Olympia, Paris. The claim emerged after fans on social media began speculating that the person at the event was a clone or body double of 64-year-old The Mask actor because he appeared unrecognisable to them. Amid the buzz around Jim's changed facial features, Alexis took to Instagram on March 1, 2026 (ET), to share images of a prosthetic mask, teeth, and a wig that matched Jim's look at the awards. He captioned the viral post as:
"Alexis Stone as Jim Carrey in Paris."

Alexis even posted pics and videos on his Instagram Stories, marking the location as Paris to show he is currently in the city. He also added the photos of Jim Carrey and the prosthetic mask in a highlight folder titled "JIM", further heightening the buzz around the clone theory. Alexis is known for his realistic celebrity transformations, which is why his latest post has been raising eyebrows. Since the photo gained traction, fans are eagerly awaiting an official clarification from Jim Carrey himself.
At the 2026 César Awards, Jim debuted a completely changed look. He sported a much longer, jet-black hairstyle, rather than his typical shorter look, though he maintained his signature middle part. The Dumb & Dumber actor wore a sleek all-black tuxedo paired with a matching black button-up shirt and bow tie. His eye colour also seemed to have changed from brown to green; however, that could have been achieved with a lens. Overall, Jim allegedly appeared at least 10 years younger than he looked in his last public sighting.
Additionally, Jim delivered his entire acceptance speech in French, revealing his ancestral roots to Saint-Malo, which led some social media users to speculate that his voice or identity had changed. These drastic differences between Jim's past and present selves sparked theories that it wasn't the actor himself, but rather his clone, who took his place at the event.
Triple-board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr Raffi Hovsepian, noted that "the most noticeable shift" in Jim Carrey's midface and cheek area during his March 2026 chat with RadarOnline. He suggested the fullness of those areas could be due to hyaluronic acid filler or temporary swelling from recent volumising treatments. Raffi also emphasised that much of Jim's look, including mild hollowing around the eyes and softening of the jawline, is a "natural structural ageing and possibly modest aesthetic maintenance" for men in their 60s. Additionally, he noted that the actor's face "moves naturally", which wouldn't have been possible if he had gone under the knife for multiple procedures.
