He added that eight months of planning were undertaken to host Jim Carrey. Not only did the actor work on his speech in French for months, but he also asked about the correct pronunciation of every word. Not only this, Gregory revealed that Jim planned the visit with his partner, his daughter, his grandson and 12 close friends and family. His publicist also accompanied him. He said:
"Jim Carrey’s visit has been planned since this summer. From the outset, he was extremely touched by the Academy’s invitation. Eight months of ongoing, constructive discussions. He worked on his French speech for months, asking me about the exact pronunciation of certain words. He came with his partner, his daughter, his grandson and 12 close friends and family members. His longtime publicist accompanied him. His old friend Michel Gondry, who has made a film and two series with him, was there, and they were delighted to see each other again."
As per many websites and news outlets, Carrey is known to be left-handed. But several videos from the event saw Jim Carrey greeting his fans and signing autographs with his right hand, which further fueled the conspiracy theory that it was not Jim but his body double at the event. Many took to X and Instagram and questioned the footage and wondered if it was really Carrey or his clone. Amid the buzz about Jim's changed facial features, Alexis Stone shared an Instagram post featuring images of a prosthetic mask, teeth, and a wig that matched Jim's look at the awards.
