It was Lauren’s appearance that did all the talking. For the stately occasion, Sánchez Bezos wore an off-the-shoulder black vintage Alexander McQueen gown with a plunging neckline.
Lauren’s body-fitted dress with off-shoulder detailing showed off her massive diamond necklace. The sparkling jewelry, which looked like a tennis necklace, featured emerald-cut diamonds and a massive emerald-cut diamond pendant at the center. She completed the look with oversized diamond drop earrings.
As soon as Lauren’s state-dinner look hit social media, people criticized her for it. One of the users wrote on X, “Money does not buy one class. She dresses terribly. So inappropriate.” Another user penned, “Have some dignity for goodness sake. This is a state dinner, and you are 56 years old.” Some also called her out for her giant diamonds and penned, “Her diamond could feed a lot of starving children.”
This isn’t the first time that Jeff Bezos’s wife, Lauren, has faced criticism over her choice of dress. In 2024, she attended the White House state dinner for Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife Yuko Kishida. For the occasion, she wore a lace-and-satin corset maxi dress by Rasario. The gown highlighted her sculpted figure, but the off-shoulder neckline exposed her upper chest.
Similarly, in 2025, during President Donald Trump’s inauguration, Lauren wore a white Alexander McQueen pantsuit. However, her white lace bra was visible beneath the suit jacket, which raised many eyebrows. But the former journalist told the Times she was “super proud” of her white Alexander McQueen pantsuit and believed it was a “conservative” choice.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez began dating in 2018 but kept their relationship under wraps until he finalized his divorce from his former wife, MacKenzie Scott. In 2025, the duo got married in a star-studded ceremony. According to reports, Jeff, 62, shares four kids- three sons and one daughter- with his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.

She gained widespread fame as a co-host of Good Day LA and also appeared in films like Fight Club, Ted 2, and The Longest Yard.
Talking about Lauren's past relationships, her first official relationship was with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez. The couple embraced parenthood in February 2001 when Lauren gave birth to a son, Nikko, and soon parted ways. After her breakup with Tony Gonzalez, Lauren Sanchez married popular Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell in August 2005, and they welcomed two kids, Evan and Ella. However, they divorced in October 2019.
