Amid his passing, the spotlight has now shifted to his family, including his wife and children. So, let's take a look at who they are and what happened to the late Cambridge professor.
The Cambridge professor's death has left everyone shocked. However, the person who was far more heartbroken by the incident was his wife, Debbie-Ann McKenzie. Jason Arday met his wife, Debbie, when he was 18. The two worked side by side at a sporting goods store in South London. Nonetheless, their bond soon turned into love, and the couple got married in 2014, according to a News24 report.
As Jason Arday became a well-known name in the academic world, he constantly spoke about the crucial role his wife, Debbie-Ann McKenzie, had played in his life and career. For the unversed, Jason's journey to becoming a professor was not easy. The late professor had a well-documented history of autism. He was diagnosed at a young age and was unable to read or write till he was 18.
According to reports, Debbie-Ann McKenzie taught Jason Arday phonics and helped him learn to read. While Debbie does not have a public profile, she was mentioned in the foreword to the late professor's book, Dismantling Race in Higher Education, as "my beautiful wife Debbie-Ann." Apart from his grieving wife, Jason leaves behind two children, Taylah and Noah, whom he also mentioned in the book.
