In a recent interview, Janhvi Kapoor made a shocking revelation and shared that her mom, late Sridevi wouldn't let her do waxing.
Elder daughter of the late actress, Sridevi and film producer, Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor is one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. Janhvi made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with the film, Dhadak and made a name for herself in the industry. While her mom, Sridevi was always against her becoming an actor, Janhvi followed her passion and set foot in the film industry.
It was on February 24, 2018, when Sridevi left for her heavenly abode after she passed away due to accidental drowning in a hotel's bathtub in Dubai. Her untimely demise left a huge void in her family members' hearts, who miss her terribly every day of their lives. Janhvi shared a loving bond with her mommy, and she was completely shattered when the latter passed away.

In an interview with Film Companion, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about one of the tragic moments of her life and recalled how her mom, late Sridevi wouldn't let her wax. Talking about the same, she talked about a magazine cover photoshoot she did with her mother, Sridevi and sister, Khushi, about ten years ago and shared that she had a full-grown mustache. In her words:
"Oh no! That was such a sad time in my life, just so tragic. Mom wouldn't let me wax, and I had a mustache. I shot for a magazine cover with full-grown moochi and hair on my hand. It reminds me of dark times in my life."
August 13, 2022, marked the late actress, Sridevi's birth anniversary, and her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor shared a throwback picture with her. The priceless photo showed the loving mother, Sridevi, hugging her daughter, Janhvi from behind. In the picture, Sridevi could be seen wearing a red silk saree paired with subtle makeup and a braided hairdo. On the other hand, Janhvi looked the cutest in a sky-blue-coloured frock. Sharing the picture, the doting daughter had penned:
"Happy birthday Mumma. I miss you more and more everyday. I love u forever."

Earlier in an interview with the Good Times, Janhvi Kapoor had opened up about her late mother, Sridevi’s stardom and shared that she wasn't even born when her mother was at the peak of her career. However, the doting daughter added that whatever she has heard from people about her late mother's legacy, she is sure that nobody can replace her mommy. Talking about the same, she had said:
“I don’t think anyone will come close to my mother’s stardom. I wasn’t there when she was shooting and at her peak because I was born after she took a break from movies. But, of course, I got a sense of it, with people speaking so passionately about her films, performances, the kind of person she was on set, her contribution… I think it’s rare and doesn’t happen twice. It’s just a once-in-a-lifetime.”
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will be next seen in the film, Mili.
