Amazon MX Player has been grabbing a lot of attention because of its unique and interesting stories and one of them is Jamnapaar, which was released in 2024, and it received mixed reviews from fans and critics. Despite that, Season 2 of Jamnapaar, starring Ritvik Sahore, Varun Badola and more, was released on October 10, 2025, on Amazon MX Player. Jamnapaar Season 1 ended with the protagonist, 'Shantanu' (Ritwik Sahore) facing the consequences of his ambition. By the end of Season 1, Shantanu realised that shortcuts and easy success came at a cost, leaving him humbled but still determined to rise above his circumstances. Season 2 picks up from 'Shantanu's' journey as he continues to chase mobility. The series also introduces 'Shaukeen Bhaiyya' (Vijay Raaz), a manipulative character, who tempts 'Shantanu' with shortcuts.
Apart from 'Shantanu', the series also focuses on 'Paras' (Inder Sahani) and his wife, 'Ankita Sehgal', who try to manage and support their family. The entire season explores moral dilemmas, choices and consequences that 'Shantanu' faces. The season also blends humour with moments of tension, drama, and emotional struggles, making it a relatable depiction of working-class life in East Delhi.
The strongest part of Jamnapaar Season 2 is its relatable portrayal of working-class life in East Delhi. Characters of the series feel real and connected to the plot. Another thing that works in the mix of humour in between serious issues like social pressures, ambitions, and moral dilemmas. Another highlight of the series is the strong acting by Vijay Raaz.
On the other hand, what doesn't work in the series is that 'Shantanu's' character can feel frustrating at times. He is shown as too naive and passive, which seems a little unrealistic and makes it hard for viewers to invest in the character. Sometimes, the plot also seems repetitive like Varun Badola's character. Apart from this, the lack of character development and slow pace of the series makes it difficult for the audience to stay hooked.
