Situations for ‘Jack’ have changed now as he is a civilian doing a normal job. However, a job to collect a package in Dubai from ‘Cooke’ forces him to come back into action. Keep reading to know what happens at the end of the film! (Spoilers ahead)
CIA director ‘Greer’ meets ‘Jack’, saying that he needs to collect the details of a former joint op from ‘Cooke’ in Dubai. However, ‘Cooke’ is killed during the meeting, and ‘Jack’, who is accompanied by ‘Mike’, is taken away by Emma ‘Marlow’, the MI6 agent. ‘Jack’ eventually gets to know why he is in Dubai. ‘Cooke’ used to work for MI6 and operated Starling, a task force, in collaboration with ‘Greer’. It was established after the 9/11 attacks with the CIA and MI6.
The task force was allowed to take down any kind of terrorist networks to keep the world safe from any kind of danger. However, the task force was discontinued when a Pakistani asset was killed during questioning. ‘Cooke’ later discovered that the group was reactivated by ‘Liam’ ‘Crown’, who had worked for MI6.
‘Jack’ Ryan returns to the CIA and joins ‘Greer’, ‘Mike’, and ‘Elizabeth’. They are also joined by ‘Marlow’ and MI6, aiming to take down ‘Liam’ and Starling. The task force was able to shut down many terrorist networks, and ‘Liam’ is possibly resurrecting them. But ‘Liam’ cannot do it until he gets the information that ‘Jack’ received from ‘Cooke’ in the form of a hard drive. The hard drive details hint that ‘Crown’ is working to execute something called “Old Gate”, a terrorist plan. The original mastermind of the same was a militant group, the Pakistani Militant Nexus.
The plan aims to target Tower Bridge, which is shut down to avoid any kind of danger. The CIA group divides its work, where ‘Greer’ and ‘Wright’ inform MI6 about the plan. On the other hand, ‘Jack’ takes ‘Marlow’ and ‘Mike’ to find a suspect associated with the militant group. While the trio believes that everything is over, ‘Jack’ starts doubting the information they received. He eventually discovers that all of this was a distraction from ‘Liam’, whose original target is ‘Greer’. ‘Jack’ tries to inform ‘Greer’ about the setup. This is followed by an explosion in a car that kills ‘Wright’, the director of the CIA.
After ‘Wright’s’ death, ‘Greer’ manages to spot ‘Liam’, leading to a chase where the CIA tries to stop ‘Crown’. Although ‘Greer’ gets ‘Liam’ at one point, men with guns in their hands intervene and start firing shots at ‘Greer’. While the situation is about to take a worse turn, ‘Jack’ and the others arrive to save ‘Greer’. A few moments later, ‘Liam’ invites ‘Greer’ to meet him through an Uber Eats message. ‘Liam’ tells ‘Greer’ that the task force should be allowed to operate once again and asks for the information that was provided by ‘Cooke’ in Dubai.
‘Jack’ arrives in the same spot, saying that the information is still in Dubai and he will give it back to ‘Liam’. But the reality is that ‘Jack’ never received any intel from ‘Cooke’ when they met in Dubai. ‘Jack’ did it so that the group could discover the details that ‘Cooke’ found about ‘Liam’ and the task force. ‘Jack’ also knows that ‘Cooke’ will keep the real intel in a safe place, which is a secret apartment.
‘Marlow’, who is ‘Cooke’s’ daughter, helps ‘Jack’ to enter the secret apartment. ‘Jack’ finds an old computer, which shows that ‘Cooke’ was observing a server that had all the details of ‘Liam’s’ plans. But ‘Jack’ is also shocked to see that ‘Liam’ already knows about the apartment. The black sheep is then revealed as the MI6 agent, 'Speer,' who has been working for ‘Liam’ all this time. The CIA makes a plan to stop ‘Liam’ and reveal everything about his operation. The team manages to convince ‘Liam’ that ‘Greer’ and ‘Mike’ have entered a flight to the United States. On the other hand, ‘Jack’ and ‘Marlow’ are on their way to Dubai. ‘Mike’ is then revealed to be in the pilot’s seat.
While the trio finds a building in Dubai with all the task force servers, they are attacked by a security team. The trio escapes, with ‘Marlow’ and ‘Jack’ entering the server room and downloading all the information to the CIA. ‘Marlow’ and ‘Jack’ are attacked by ‘Liam’ and his men. While ‘Mike’ intervenes to save them, ‘Marlow’ is injured, and ‘Jack’ surrenders in front of ‘Liam’. ‘Greer’ then arrives in a chopper and starts firing at ‘Liam’ and his men, following which ‘Liam’ is shot and falls to his death. In the end, ‘Greer’ becomes the CIA director, with ‘Jack’ joining as the deputy director.
