Although nothing has been confirmed yet, speculation about him being the next '007' has left the internet abuzz. The actor became a well-known face for his work in Dunkirk, The Fifth Step, and Slow Horses. So, as fans wait to see who will be selected for the 'Bond' role, let's take a look at his wife.
While Jack Lowden is preparing for his screen test for 'James Bond', fans have been digging into his personal life. The actor is a well-known name in the industry, and it seems like his wife is no less. Jack is married to Saoirse Ronan, whom he began dating while he was working on Mary Queen of Scots. She is a four-time Academy Award-nominated actress and is best known for her roles in Atonement (2007), Lady Bird (2017), and Little Women (2019).
The couple tied the knot in 2024 and welcomed their first child the same year. Recently, Saoirse Ronan reflected on her husband's upcoming role, and her response showed how they have managed to create a home away from the limelight. In a candid conversation with The Associated Press, Saoirse revealed that they don't talk about work as they have several domestic matters they'd rather discuss. She was quoted as saying:
"[That's] its own thing. We're kind of getting on with our life, to be honest. We have plenty of other things to be dealing with. So, yeah, it's not really a subject that's coming up in our house, to be honest. The dog needs to be walked, the dinner needs to be made — we're most focused on that."
According to Deadline, four actors have been shortlisted for the next phase of the selection process. The four contenders for the role of 'James Bond' are Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Josh O'Connor and an unnamed actor. The four actors will be screen testing for the film this weekend, that is, October 24, 2026, and October 25, 2026, as part of Amazon MGM's shortlist for an untitled upcoming Bond film.
Even without clinching the role, Jack Lowden is no stranger to the spotlight, as the Scottish actor stars in one of the most acclaimed TV shows of the past few years, along with several other big-name projects. Over the years, Jack has appeared in several notable projects, including the Apple TV series Slow Horses, where he is seen essaying the role of MI5 agent 'River Cartwright'.
Slow Horses has had a successful run of six seasons since its launch in 2022. It has already been renewed for a seventh and eighth season. In the show, Jack Lowden appears alongside Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Hugo Weaving, and Olivia Cooke. He was also nominated twice for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
However, his acting prowess isn't limited to just Slow Horses; Jack Lowden has appeared in several other acclaimed shows, including The Long Song, Small Axe, Wolf Hall, and Amazon's mega-budget The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. In another star-making role, the Scottish actor will play 'Fitzwilliam Darcy' in Netflix's Pride and Prejudice adaptation.
Apart from the aforementioned projects, Jack Lowden has also been a part of the wrestling movie Fighting with My Family, the gangster historical film Capone, and the historical drama Mary, Queen of Scots. His filmography shows his versatility on screen, which makes him a strong candidate for the James Bond film.
