The pair had been together for nearly 5 years. Mika and Jake first met on the set of Sex Appeal in 2021 and have been together since then. Amid this, a post on TikTok claiming that Mika and her co-star, Josh Heuston, are a thing has gone viral.
In Off Campus, Mika Abdalla as 'Allie Hayes' is 'Hannah Wells's' best friend and Josh Heuston as 'Justin Kohl' is 'Hannah's' crush. However, in real life, fans think Mika and Josh have a spark. The reason behind thinking this was some BTS moments between Mika and Josh. In one clip, Josh is seen helping Mika get up and sit, and the video has already gone viral on TikTok.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that Mika and Josh seem like a thing and wrote, "Bro helped her stand up, and TikTok already planned the wedding." While the clip has got over a million views on X, it is noteworthy to mention that neither Josh nor Mika said anything about them dating. However, fans are just shipping Josh and Mika at the moment.
Shortly after the TikTok video featuring Mika and Josh surfaced on X, netizens flooded the comment section. A user wrote, "I have known Josh ever since his early days on Instagram and knowing what he’s gone through, he’s such a nice dude. Mika is an absolute legend too. I wanna say it loud, but I don’t wanna get jumped. Wishing our girl healing and peace." Another user commented, "Love that she got to be around (seemingly) real gentlemen and took the 'I deserve and can have better' route."
However, there were a few users who believed that Josh and Mika's dating was just a rumour. A user wrote, "I mean, her ex-boyfriend was kind of toxic. He never respected her at all. And I honestly didn’t like him. She deserves better, and I don’t think that they’re together, I mean Josh." A fan of Mika and Stephen Kalyn commented, "Anything to distract them from Stephen? In 2025, Jake’s manager, Brian Medavoy, confirmed his and Mika’s engagement. Sharing a snap, Brian wrote, "An awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fiance, Mika Abdalla. From set to real life – watching your journey has been a joy. Here's to forever." However, on June 2, 2026, Mika’s representative confirmed to US Weekly that the pair are no longer together. However, they have decided to continue remaining on good terms. Mika’s representative was quoted as saying:
"Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life, it would feel remiss to not address that she and Jake are no longer together. They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect."
Mika and Jake first met in 2021 and began dating sometime around the same year. In 2024, Jake revealed on The American High Podcast that Mika asked him when they were getting married every day. During the same conversation, Mika recalled their first meeting when they both arrived in Syracuse, New York. Mika said:
"I came over just to say hi, and we ended up talking — not about the script, just talking and getting to know each other for hours. He was really cool and sweet and great."
