Is Anderson Cooper dating anyone, or is he single? The CNN news anchor recently revealed details about his current relationship status.
CNN's famous veteran anchor, Anderson Cooper, along with Andy Cohen, are toasting to 2026 by hosting the annual special, New Year's Eve Live. Anderson has been the main anchor on TV for almost two decades and is known for engaging his fans with his insightful broadcasts. On Anderson's personal front, he is known for sharing pictures of his life with his kids and Benjamin Maisani. However, are Anderson and Benjamin yet together?
In 2009, Anderson Cooper and Benjamin Maisani, a French businessman with many bars and nightclubs in New York City, began dating. They had shared a converted firehouse apartment, which was purchased by Anderson back in 2010. They had made New York City their home. The pair had not accepted their relationship until 2015. Benjamin was then seen frequently on Anderson's Instagram feed.
According to a report by Just Jared.com, Anderson Cooper is single and is not dating anyone at the moment. In a December 2025 interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Anderson revealed that he does not want to date. He and his ex-partner, Benjamin, separated in 2018, and Anderson revealed that both of them were family and loved one another a lot despite the split. In his words:
"I’m not gonna [date], I’m not looking. I’m just trying to get through the day. We are still family to each other and love each other very much. We remain the best of friends and will continue to share much of our lives together."
Anderson Cooper, who is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, has been open about his relationship priorities in recent times. In December 2025, he declared himself single and revealed he had no romantic relationships on the horizon in the current scenario. He explained that his main focus was on raising his kids and his career anchoring Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN. Despite being one of the most well-known faces on TV, Anderson maintained strict privacy related to his romantic life post his breakup with Benjamin. Anderson revealed of feeling content with being single and is not looking towards changing his relationship status anytime in the future.
Though Anderson and Benjamin's relationship ended, they remained friends. The pair had embraced parenthood, and via surrogacy in April 2020, they became parents to their first child, a son whom they called Wyatt. They then took the challenge of co-parenting their son with a sense of commitment and also joy. Anderson on his show, Anderson Cooper 360, had announced the arrival of Wyatt and revealed:
"Wyatt calls me ‘daddy’ and Benjamin ‘papa.’ We’re a family. Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt, whose last name will be changed to Maisani-Cooper as well. I've always believed that if you've been with somebody and that ends, in terms of an intimate relationship, if you love somebody, there's no reason why that love shouldn't continue."
Back in September 2023, Anderson told People that the early years of parenting had been the best time in his life. He revealed that there are moments of bliss, humour, gentleness, and sheer delight about parenting that stun him. Anderson also revealed that his son was named after his late dad, Wyatt Emory Cooper, who passed away when he was merely 10 years of age. Anderson hoped to be a good dad like his father.
It was in 2020 when Anderson welcomed Wyatt and then announced that he and Benjamin had planned on co-parenting. The ex-partners were together for four years and had known each other for decades. Even after their breakup, they were good friends. In 2022, Anderson and Benjamin were blessed with Sebastian Luke. The ex-couple did not go back together but have been co-parenting. Anderson revealed that Benjamin was always a good father, and he has not thought of planning more kids. Anderson wants to enjoy fatherhood and be the best parent.
Even though Anderson and Benjamin are not together, he has called Benjamin as his 'family' and he wants him to be the best parent to the kids. Anderson spoke about the unconventional decision made of co-parenting and said:
"Even though we're not together anymore ... he's my family, and I want him to be Wyatt's family as well. If more people love my son and are in his life, I'm all for that. My ex is a great guy, and I think it's good to have two parents if you can. If there was ever something that happened to me, I would want Wyatt to be surrounded by love."
