In January 2026, the content creator shared a pre-written message on her Instagram account, @theanandapivot, which included the official statement of her death. Sara, who was 39 years old, died nearly three years after being diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) in March 2023. Her fans have expressed grief as a beautiful soul left the world too soon.

Influencer, Sara Bennett shared a poignant statement reflecting on her journey with ALS and the final months of her life, on her lifestyle and professional organisation account, @theanandapivot. She stated that she was neither tired nor in pain in her final days of life. She led a normal life, filled with good conversations and laughter. The mom of two, who spent her final years in a wheelchair, shared that she could move around before her demise. Sara Bennett also reflected on the importance of having time to say goodbye even amidst suffering.

Sara was happy that she knew about her impending death and could spend her final days as per her wish. She ticked off her bucket list and did everything she wanted, both individually and with her loved ones. She loved to live, and she expressed gratitude for 39 years of life. Sara Bennett shared that she was feeding the earth and her tree, which gave her happiness. Her final words focused on choosing positivity and moving "onward and upward," regardless of devastating circumstances. Sara's message was shared as a post, most likely by her family members, after she quietly passed away. The statement could be read as:

"I am not in pain, or tired. I can laugh, talk, and I can move. Reflecting in my last few months of my life, I am glad I didn't go suddenly even WITH the suffering. I finished my list. Even if you don't believe in any thing, I am feeding the earth, and my tree. I loved this life, and am grateful for the time."

Sara's ALS journey was marked by her commitment to educating the masses regarding the disease and maintaining a video diary of parenting as a terminally ill person. Sara Bennett first noticed the ALS symptoms in March 2022, when she faced a loss of grip strength in her dominant hand and had difficulty lifting her right foot. After a year of testing, including a misdiagnosis that led to unnecessary spinal surgery, she was officially diagnosed with ALS in March 2023. The disease progressed aggressively, leading to the loss of her career as a high school social studies teacher and eventually her voice.

Originally running a lifestyle organisation business called The Ananda Edit, Sara renamed her platform to The Ananda Pivot following her diagnosis. She did it to 'pivot' from her devastating diagnosis toward the positives of life. She used her social media reach of over 105K to advocate for expanded access to experimental treatments. Sara Bennett also shared resources on adaptive tools for daily living, such as independent showering aids. She documented how she and her husband, Rusty, helped their two young sons (Lincoln, aged 7 and William, aged 9 as of January 2026) to cope with her illness.

Sara actively supported organisations like the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) and Live Like Lou, often involving her children in fundraising efforts. Besides her philanthropy, Sara focused on 'legacy work,' including writing life lessons for her sons and organising an 'End of Life Ceremony'. Following her demise, her friends, family and followers have lauded her brave fight against the ailment and shared their well wishes for her husband and children. Notably, Sara's family launched a college fund to "secure a future for Sara's boys," and many fans have donated to it.
