Back in the mid-2000s, on the sets of Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam, Indraneil and Barkha had met and fallen in love with each other gradually over time.

A year after the premiere of Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam, Indraneil Sengupta proposed Barkha Bisht on her birthday and finally, on March 2, 2008, the lovebirds had tied the knot. Three years later, Indraneil and Barkha embraced parenthood with the arrival of a little angel, Meira. Barkha and Indraneil's social media handles are filled with extremely beautiful pictures of their baby girl and scrolling through them will make you realise that they have done a wonderful job in raising Meira.
The rumours are rife that Indraneil Sengupta and Barkha Bisht are facing troubles in their married life and the reason is suggested to be his alleged proximity to a girl in Kolkata. When ETimes TV contacted Indraneil, he denied such reports and said, "I have heard rumours of such kind about Barkha and my marriage and I knew they will trickle to the media, but there's nothing like that."
When asked if he and Barkha Bisht are living separately, Indraneil Sengupta retorted, "No, we are together." Refuting the reports of his extra-marital affair with someone from Kolkata, Indraneil said, "I have heard this also. But for that to happen, I need to have gone to Kolkata. Right? I last went to Kolkata in February."

Regarding Indraneil Sengupta and Barkha Bisht's separation, a source informed ETimes TV, "There is serious trouble in the paradise of Barkha and Indraneil." But another source refuted the rumours and revealed it's not a serious matter, "Well, husband-wife ke beech jhagde toh hote hi rehte hain. What's new! I don't think this is a serious matter. They have been going out for social appearances and posting pictures together."
In March 2021, Indraneil Sengupta and Barkha Bisht had celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary and to mark the same, the couple had posted heartfelt wishes on social media. Indraneil had posted some breathtakingly beautiful pictures of Barkha with the caption, “WIFE. 13 years. Happy Marriage Anniversary my love @barkhasengupta.”
Barkha Bisht had posted a video, comprising some cherishable memories with her hubby, Indraneil Sengupta. Barkha had captioned her post as “13 years back I said ‘yes’ .... let’s hope I’m not making u regret asking that question HAPPY ANNIVERSARY my love @indraneilsengupta #juststaywithme.” To which, Indraneil had commented, “This is too cute!! @barkhasengupta happy anniversary.” Barkha had replied, “@indraneilsengupta u married ‘cuteness’”.

When Barkha Bisht was contacted for a comment on her separation rumours with Indraneil Sengupta, she remained unavailable. But it is said that she is distraught with the reports.
