The dashing cricketer of the Indian team, Sir Ravindra Jadeja is a Happily married man with a beautiful wife and daughter. He tied the knot with his fiancée Rivaba Solanki on April 17, 2016, in Rajkot. Their wedding was a private affair with only close friends and family members in attendance.

Meet the bride

Rivaba hails from Junagadh and is a mechanical engineer. Her father is a businessman and her mother is an employee of the Indian Railways. She was based out of Delhi as she was preparing for the UPSC exams.

Engagement

The couple got engaged in February 2016, in a private ceremony at Rajkot. Jadeja broke the news of his engagement to Rivaba through his Twitter account as he tweeted this picture along with the message:

Pre-wedding celebrations

Jadeja and Rivaba’s pre-wedding celebrations began on April 15, which included haldi, mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. Be it the décor, the looks of the bride and groom or anything else, the celebrations were absolutely royal and truly spectacular in every sense. Mehendi

Rivaba looked ravishing in a yellow panetar (traditional Gujarati wedding outfit for the bride) and floral jewellery.

The super-delighted sisters of the groom, Nainaba and Padminiba, were dressed in simple yet vibrant clothes for the mehendi.

Sangeet

Jadeja skipped his match to attend his sangeet ceremony on April 16. It was a grand affair and the dashing groom even exhibited his skills with the sword as he brandished it in the air for quite some time like a pro. Take a look at the video here:

The royal Rajputana wedding

The royal wedding of Ravindra Jadeja and Rivaba Solanki took place in the morning on April 17, 2016 at the Seasons Hotel, Rajkot. Jadeja looked no less than a Rajput king in a light-coloured sherwani, which he accessorised well with a turban, kalgi and a neckpiece.

The bride too looked gorgeous in a traditional red and green outfit.

Reportedly, Jadeja arrived at the wedding venue in the same Audi car which was gifted to him by his father-in-law.

While everything happened just perfectly, there was one event because of which Jadeja’s wedding ran into controversy. Some of his relatives fired gunshots in the air to mark the celebrations after which police arrived at the venue. Fortunately, no one was injured because of this. However, it is illegal to fire even a licensed gun unless it is done in the case of self-defense. 

While none of his cricketer friends were a part of his wedding, many were a part of the reception party which was held in the evening on the same day of the wedding.
