On July 12, 2026, Ida Ali took to her Instagram handle to reveal her engagement. Unlike the usual announcement, Ida shared a breathtaking video, which opened with a beautiful scenery. Soon, the 26-year-old writer flaunted her sparkling diamond engagement ring. The video ended with her fiance, Krish Agarwal joining her in the frame.
They also seemed emotional as they smiled for a selfie. She captioned the video as, "01/07/26 11pm Ytresand", which suggested that Krish proposed to her on July 1, 2026, at 11 p.m. in Ytresand, a place in Norway. Later, she also shared some dreamy snaps, in which Krish can be seen on his knees as he slips the engagement ring on Ida’s hands. Soon after the posts went viral, multiple celebrities flooded the comment section with nothing but love.
Actors like Vedang Raina, Sharvari Wagh, Khushi Kapoor, Orry, Aliyah Kashyap and more showered the couple with love and congratulatory messages. Apart from this, one fan commented, "Aaaa screaming!! So excited and happy for you guys!! Congrats love you both." Another user wrote, "So happy for you guys I’m still in shock." A third user penned, "Good job Krish." However, it is worth mentioning Ida’s father, Imtiaz Ali has not yet commented anything on the same.
Amid Ida’ engagement, an old statement of Imtiaz Ali has resurfaced, in which he spoke about her journey. For the unversed, Ida has followed the footsteps of her father. In a 2024 interview with ETimes, Imtiaz Ali opened up about their collaboration and explained:
"Ida and I have been collaborating since the time she was born, that's because she has been addicted to stories and has forced me to tell her one story every night when I used to put her to sleep. So, we have a relationship of stories, and at some point she began telling me stories. Every story I've made, especially from Tamasha and even before that, she would be listening to them while in the house, and then more actively giving ideas, reactions and feedback."
For those who do not know, Ida Ali is a well-known writer and filmmaker; however, she is best-known as Imtiaz Ali's daughter. The 26-year-old writer first grabbed attention when she directed a short film called Lift. She was only 17 at that time. Since then, Ida has written many shows including the Amazon miniTV show, Uljhe Hue.
Reportedly, she studied filmmaking at Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California. Apart from this, Ida has also founded Refresh, which focuses on mental health. In 2018, she spoke about how her father has helped her in her career. She said:
"Firstly, we both have an understanding that I have to make it on my own. He believes that I have it in me to do so. And also, there is always the fear of our relationship getting between our work; it is better to stay clear of that. I write stories separately and I don't think there is any influence in them from him. However, because we are in the same atmosphere a lot, we may have a similar outlook on life that reflects in our films."
Coming to his fiance, Krish Agarwal, he leads a very private life. He stays miles away from the media glare. For the unversed, Krish has a private IG profile with only 121 followers. However, he has often appeared on Ida’s feed. As of 2026, there is not much information of Krish’s personal and professional life, except for the fact that he is the future son-in-law of Imtiaz Ali.
