IIT Bombay's student, Sahil Wakode's mother breaks down talking about her child after he died by suicide.

Sahil's parents revealed that their son had told them about the discrimination he was facing in the college, but the father stated that it was difficult to secure admission to such a prestigious college and that he should bear it.
Sonali Wakode, Sahil Wakode's mother, broke down while talking to the media about her son's passing. She revealed that she gave mental support to her child and that it was not a mistake. She demanded the immediate arrest of Professor Suryanaryana Dolla. The father also alleged that the professor used to discriminate against his son due to his caste. The father said:
"Only after the arrests will everything come out. My son was a bright student. Cracking the JEE Advanced is not an ordinary achievement... They may make all kinds of false allegations and say that he cheated his way into cracking JEE Advanced. They may say anything and try to divert the matter. My only demand is that the accused be arrested. My son had earlier communicated about this discrimination, but I told him it's difficult to secure admission in IIT, and told him to bear it."
However, he told him to bear it, as it was difficult to be part of IIT Bombay. The father also named the IIT Bombay director, Shireeh Kedare, as another person who tortured his son. He also alleged that his body was sent to a government hospital and that they were not informed promptly about his death. He also claimed that the IIT administration tried to destroy crucial evidence. He added:

My only demand is that the accused be arrested."
The mother also recalled her last conversation with her son, and stated that he told her about the torture he went through. However, they told them to bear it a little, but he was just a young boy. She said:
"Hum jab 13 tareekh ko milne gaye the unke room ke andar, toh unhone bataya ki papa mujhe thura torture ho raha hai, or mujhe Shivika de rahe hain. Humne use samjhaya ki chalta rehta hai, humne usko morally support kra. Vo bacha tha."
As per the officials of the college, Sahil was caught using a mobile phone during a mid-semester examination. The institute shared that Sahil was allegedly caught using ChatGPT, on which he had uploaded the question paper and was seeking answers to it. However, they later apologised for the statements.
The professor named as the one who was biased had allegedly caught him with a mobile phone, and the institute's faculty forum has backed him. However, Sahil was later found dead in his room at hostel number 4 on campus. The police have registered an FIR on the complaint of Sahil's parents. Earlier, police had registered the case as an accidental death as no suicide note was found.
We hope Sahil's family gets justice as they have been navigating the biggest loss of their lives.
