The unwanted incident took place at a hotel in Sao Paulo, which left the preteen sobbing. The issue centres on an encounter that took place on March 21, 2026, while Catherine and Ada were staying at the same hotel as Chappell Roan during the Lollapalooza Brazil festival. As the incident gained traction, actor Jude Law's name was increasingly linked to the controversy, leading some to wonder what the reason might be.
The Chappell Roan vs Jorginho Frello controversy includes an unwanted encounter between the singer-songwriter and her little fan, Jorginho Frello's 11-year-old stepdaughter, Ada Law. According to Jorginho, his wife, Catherine Harding (better known by her stage name Cat Cavelli) and Ada faced disrespect from the pop singer, Chappell Roan's security at a hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in March 2026. The incident came to light when he shared a detailed account of the same on Instagram. According to him, Ada simply walked past Chappell's table during breakfast, just to confirm it was actually her. After that, Ada smiled and returned to sit with her mother.
Shortly after, a "large security guard" allegedly approached their table and spoke in an "extremely aggressive manner" to both Catherine and her preteen daughter. The guard reportedly accused the 11-year-old of "disrespecting" or "harassing" Chappell Roan and threatened to file a complaint with the hotel's management. The confrontation reportedly left Ada "in tears" and "extremely shaken." He criticised Roan on Instagram, tagging her and telling fans she "doesn't deserve your affection." Following the incident, the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro allegedly banned Chappell from performing at a local event, according to Men's Journal.
