Hayden Panettiere rose to fame for her role as the ambitious and talented young country music star, 'Juliette Barnes,' in Nashville. The show was an important stepping stone in her career, making her a familiar face in the industry and building her a solid fan base. The show premiered in October 2012 and followed the life of a fictional collective of country music artists based in Nashville, Tennessee, and starred Connie Britton, Clare Bowen, Charles Esten and Jonathan Jackson, alongside Hayden.

However, the show has recently returned to the limelight for a reason neither the cast nor the fans had anticipated. The sudden passing of Hayden Panettiere has brought the show and cast into the headlines, with fans wondering where the remaining cast is amid this heartbreaking period. Connie Britton has been shining on screen after her stint in Nashville

After being in Nashville for five seasons, Connie Britton saw immeasurable success, starring in several stellar shows and films. Her first project after the show was Dirty John, a 2018 true-crime anthology by Bravo. The actress portrayed 'Debra Newell' and even earned a 2019 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress. She also scored a Critics' Choice nomination that year. Connie also joined Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron in the 2019 film Bombshell.

She later appeared as 'Dean Walker' in the 2020 crime thriller Promising Young Woman, starring Carey Mulligan, Emerald Fennell, Bo Burnman, Chris Lowell and Alison Brie. Connie returned to the small screen in 2020 as 'Abby Clark' in 9-1-1, and later moved on to The White Lotus in 2021, where she played the role of 'Nicole Mossbacher'. Recently, she was seen in TV roles in 2025's Overcompensating and 2026's Rooster.

Regarding her personal life, Connie Britton was married to John Britton from 1991 to 1995. She is now engaged to producer David Windsor, after dating for nearly six years. People confirmed their engagement in October 2025, shortly after the proposal. The actress paid her respects to Hayden Panettiere following her demise and penned, "I have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak. I love you, girl. Sleep easy now."

Clare Bowen switched to music after finding her passion in Nashville

Clare Bowen took her character's love for music and ran with it in real life as well. The actress-turned-singer launched her music career while filming for Nashville. Some of her original tracks were also featured in the series. She has since continued her musical career by forming the band Bowen*Young with her husband, fellow singer-songwriter Brandon Robert Young. The duo currently performs around the world.

Charles Esten narrowly missed meeting Hayden Panettiere before her death

Charles Esten continued his television career after his role in Nashville as 'Deacon Claybourne' wrapped. Thereafter, he appeared in a 2019 episode of the Apple TV horror series Tell Me a Story and four episodes of 2021's Tell Me Your Secrets. However, he found a more permanent role with Outer Banks, where he starred as 'Ward Cameron' from 2020 to 2023.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor revealed how he missed meeting Hayden Panettiere before her death. He shared that he was in Greenville to perform at a concert on the night of Friday, August 14, 2026, whereas Hayden arrived at the same local property, Judson Mills, on August 15, 2026 (ET).

The actress passed away the next day. He paid his respects to the actress with an Instagram post. He even recalled the first time he met Hayden and revealed that he was finishing his first audition for Nashville and was about to leave. However, when he went to open the door, "instead of swinging all the way out, the door bumped into somebody". The actor revealed it was Hayden. He recalled how the actress smiled and complimented him. A part of his post read:

"What a great gift it was to act with her, sing with her, and to just be her friend. She was always extremely kind to my family, especially my wife, Patty, who I’m certain she liked even more than me. Together, we are heartbroken that she is gone, and praying for her family, and for all those who, like us, will miss and mourn her so dearly. God bless you, Hayden. Rest In Peace and Light."

Jonathan Jackson switched lanes from acting to poetry

Jonathan Jackson, who rose to fame for his role as 'Lucky Spencer' on ABC's General Hospital back in 1991, joined Nashville as 'Avery Barkley'. Even after Nashville ended, he continued in his role as 'Lucky ' until 2025, when he made the heartbreaking decision to leave the show due to the extensive commute between his home in Tennessee and the filming in California. 

Jonathan has since switched lanes, now expanding his artistic pursuits after launching a debut poetry book in 2012. He has released several projects under the authorship of Jonathan S. Jackson, with his most recent, The Eternal Poet and the Cosmic Drama, due to release in September 2026. Talking about his personal life, Jonathan is married to former Canadian actress Lisa Vultaggio.

Maisy Stella has been shining on the big screen alongside Anna Hathaway in The End of Oak Street

Canadian-born child star Stella portrayed 'Daphne Conrad', the youngest daughter of Connie Britton's 'Rayna' in Nashville. While the show formed the foundation of her career, she has since moved her acting talents to the big screen, appearing in 2024's My Old Ass alongside Aubrey Plaza. The role earned her a Critics' Choice award for Best Young Performer.

More recently, Maisy Stella appeared in The End of Oak Street as 'Audrey Platt' opposite Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, who play her on-screen parents. While the actress hasn't issued a statement on Hayden's death, Maisy's mother took to her Instagram and penned a heartfelt note for the late actress that read:

"Lennon and Maisy were 8 and 12 when they walked into their first table read. Their nerves leaned heavily on the fact that they were about to meet Hayden. The Ice Princess. From day 1, she was eager to be support to both of them, knowing the challenges of being young girls in the industry. Unbelievably heartbreaking news. Seeing someone so strong and so insanely talented work so hard to get better, and then succumb, is devastating, but I’m imagining her finally at peace."
