Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleHayden Panettiere’s death at the age of 36 has become the talk of the town due to its untimely nature. Fans have been left equally heartbroken and curious about her cause of death. What makes her passing even more tragic is that she would have turned 37 years old on August 21, 2026. Amid this, her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, has honored the late actress on social media.
Just five days after Hayden Panettiere’s sudden death, her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note for the late actress. In the birthday tribute, the former professional boxer wrote about how instead of celebrating the way they had previously planned, August 21, 2026, has become a day when they celebrate Hayden's life, her spirit, as well as the love that she brought into this world.
Alongside a beautiful picture of Hayden, Wladimir said that he wants to thank all of her fans, friends, and everyone who had reached out to share their love and support during this difficult time. While Wladimir’s days are filled with immense sadness since Hayden’s passing, the kindness he received reminded him that there was still so much good in humanity.
Wladimir went on to urge those reading his post to embrace love, reconnect with a friend, be kind, and offer forgiveness. He ended the note by writing:
“Love is a superpower. Use it. Happy Birthday, Hayden. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.”
It is worth mentioning that before her death, Hayden was planning to spend her birthday week with her daughter in Germany. A source for Page Six confirmed the same and added, “She was so excited to see her and was telling everyone how much she was looking forward to spending time with her.”
The Heroes star had welcomed her daughter, Kaya, with Wladimir in 2014. Just four months after she gave birth to Kaya, Hayden was diagnosed with postpartum depression. Adding her struggles with addiction to this, Hayden eventually decided to give up custody of her daughter to her ex-fiancé four years later, in 2018. Since then, Kaya has lived with Wladimir in Ukraine.
Hayden had previously opened up about how she felt when she signed over custody of Kaya to Wladimir. In an interview with Us Weekly, she called the experience “a nightmare.” She claimed that she had felt out of control, but there was nothing she could do about it.
For those unaware, Hayden Panettiere passed away on August 16, 2026. She was found unresponsive at an Airbnb in South Carolina following an apparent “overdose.” While the coroner's office revealed that there were “no signs of trauma” at the scene, the exact cause of Hayden's death is pending further investigation.
After the news of the Nashville star's death broke, Wladimir Klitschko shared a statement alongside a picture of Hayden with Kaya on her shoulders. He said that his family is going through a time of profound shock and grief as Hayden left the world far too soon.
Wladimir admitted that even though Hayden was no longer his partner, she was an important part of his life and the mother of his daughter, Kaya. He said nothing would erase the times they shared. Wladimir added:
“To our daughter Kaya, I will always speak of her mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was. I extend my deepest condolences to Hayden’s parents, her friends, and her fans, who are also grieving today.”
