Hardik Pandya showed a beautiful gesture for the ground staff of Wankhede, who supported him during his long training sessions.
Indian cricketer, Hardik Pandya continues to be in the limelight for his amazing gameplay and controversial personal life. Recently, he left many in awe by showing the other side of his personality. The cricketer, who recently won the T20 World Cup, decided to gift the ground staff at Wankhede Stadium Rs. 10 lakh each.
For the unversed, Hardik played a crucial role in helping the Indian Men's cricket team win the T20 World Cup back-to-back. He even proved his critics wrong who thought that his game was going down. Coming back to Hardik's gesture, he prepared at Wankhede Stadium for the ICC marquee event. During his late-night training session, Hardik made a promise to the ground staff that he would return and thank them for their support if they win the tournament.
Hardik really believed that the ground staff played an important role in enhancing his performance and helping in practice in the nets, even after their shifts were over. Their efforts helped him to practice well and prepare for the game. The cricketer is extremely grateful for the ground staff's support, and to honour them, he gifted them a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh each. After India's T-20 World Cup win, Hardik made sure to return to Wankhede Stadium and personally thank each staff member.
This act left many impressed with Hardik, while some questioned his intentions and called it an attention-seeking behaviour. Also, it is worth mentioning that the Times Of India report claimed that Hardik gifted Rs. 10 lakh to the ground staff, but Gaurav Gupta, another journalist of TOI claims it was Rs. 10,000.
But no matter what people might think, Hardik is not affected by the world's chatter around his actions. In fact, he has been like this, a part of his personality which is not known to many. Once during a match, when Hardik hit a six, it accidentally hit a cameraman's shoulder. After the innings, he personally approached the cameraman and placed an ice pack on his shoulder. He even apologised for the same.
Hardik Pandya was earlier married to Natasa Stankovic in 2020, the two were blessed with a son in the same year. However, their relationship made headlines in 2024, after reports of his separation from his wife, Natasa Stankovic, were all over the news. Soon, after the divorce, Hardik was linked up with Jasmin Walia. He was spotted with her, but he never confirmed the relationship.
After two years of his separation, Hardik confirmed his relationship status, and introduced the lady in his life, Mahieka Sharma. On October 10, 2025, Hardik Pandya took to his Instagram handle and shared an IG story. In the photo, he was at the beach, chilling in his oversized jacket with shorts and slippers. But all eyes were on the lady on whom Hardik kept his hand casually. She was dressed up in a white shirt dress. While her face wasn't visible, Hardik introduced her by tagging her IG handle, Mahieka Sharma. As they looked at the serene blue, Hardik cutely confirmed that his heart is booked.
For the unversed, Mahieka Sharma is a famous model and has shot covers of fashion magazines such as ELLE and Grazia. She even won the Model of the Year award at the Indian Fashion Awards. She has been part of advertisement films for brands including Tanishq, Vivo, and Uniqlo, and is known for showing off the beautiful pieces of fashion designers like Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra and Anita Dongre.
