Well, amid the rage surrounding Dhurandhar 2, one particular moment which caught viewers' attention in the Ranveer Singh starrer was actress, Yami Gautam's brief role as a nurse. Fans also did not miss how Yami's character was called ‘Shazia Bano,’ the character she played in Haq. Now, Haq director, Suparn S Varma gave fans an insight into how the crossover moment came to be.

Haq director, Suparn S Varma, revealed how Yami Gautam's character name in Dhurandhar 2 and Haq came to be named the same

Recently, Haq director, Suparn S Varma, opened up about how the crossover moment between Dhurandhar 2 and Haq came about through Yami Gautam's character name, ‘Shazia Bano.' He revealed that Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2's director and Yami's husband, had seen the cut of Haq. After watching it, Aditya apparently told Suparn that there was a surprise he had just shot for his film. When Suparn asked him what it was, all Aditya revealed was that the part he shot would appear in the last scene of Dhurandhar 2. When Suparn questioned Aditya about what it was again, the Dhurandhar filmmaker finally gave him a hint, saying it was “Yami's character.” After being questioned again, Aditya said, “Guess what, it's a nameplate.”

Well, after they had a good laugh, Aditya Dhar confessed to Suparn that Yami's character in Dhurandhar 2 is called ‘Shazia Bano.' According to Suparn, the revelation made him realise that he and Aditya have a mutual admiration as well as love for each other's works. In his words:

"That’s when I felt we really have a mutual admiration, and we genuinely love each other’s work. And yes, it was something very sweet and admirable that he did, I guess, for Yami’s dedication and passion while playing Shazia Bano in Haq."

Yami Gautam wanted to be a part of Dhurandhar after reading the film's script

While Yami Gautam's cameo and character name became a talking point among cinephiles, it probably wouldn't have happened had the actress herself not wanted it. In an earlier interview with News18, Yami revealed that when she first read the script for Dhurandhar, it was one of the rare moments when she wanted to be a guy so she could be part of the movie. She revealed the same to her husband, filmmaker, Aditya Dhar, also praising the script and calling it an amazing project.
