Hansika Motwani's Wedding Lehenga Was Gleaned With 18th Century Brocade And Peacock Motifs

Indian actress, Hansika Motwani's wedding lehenga was designed by Rimple and Harpreet, and the interesting part of her outfit was that it was made with 18th-century brocade fragments.

Hansika Motwani radiated royal vibes for her winter wedding with Sohael Kathuriya in Rajasthan. However, it is her wedding lehenga that has been the talk of the town. The moment the first pictures of Hansika made rounds on the internet, everyone sighed as her look was refreshing yet traditional. Recently, the design revealed the making of Hansika's gorgeous red lehenga.

On December 11, 2022, the official designer page of Rimple And Harpreet shared pictures of Hansika's wedding look and revealed the idea behind her lehenga design. The page revealed that Hansika's wedding lehenga had a stunning peacock motif. However, it was the skirt panels which were designed with floral motifs and gleaned from 18th-century brocade fragments as well as Mughal miniatures.

Hansika's outfit was adorned with dabka, naqshi, sequins, pearls and semi-precious stones. Her Banarasi zari dupatta which was layered with a handcrafted bandej pattern. Hansika had accentuated her look with polki choker neckpiece, a nath, and a maang teeka. Hansika's look was accentuated with dewy sheen makeup, soft nude lips and soft eyeshadow. 

However, Hansika's kaleera added more charm to her look. Hansika donned customised kaleeras, which had peacock trinkets. Another interesting part of Hansika's wedding look was her lehenga skirt which featured peacock motifs at the hem.

For those who don't know, Kaleera is one of the most important pieces of jewellery for a Punjabi bride. It is an umbrella-shaped ornament which is made either in gold or silver metal. It is tied on the wedding day by sisters or sister-in-law of the bride after chooda ceremony. Kaleera holds deep meaning, which symbolises prosperity and good luck, which the new bride carries with her as she begins her journey in a new family.
