Bollywood actress, Hansika Motwani, has sued her estranged sister-in-law, Muskan Nancy James, over domestic violence accusations.
Bollywood actress, Hansika Motwani has moved a Sessions Court in Mumbai, seeking Rs. 2 crore in damages. The actress has filed a defamation suit against her former sister-in-law, TV actress, Muskan Nancy James. Muskan accused Hansika and her brother, Prashant Motwani, of domestic violence. The suit has a court order restraining, Hansika's estranged, sister-in-law, TV actress, Muskan Nancy James from making any more statements against the actress.
A report by India Today revealed that Hansika Motwani wants a public apology from Muskan Nancy James. The filing for the actress was prepared by her advocate, Adnan Shaikh, and it alleges that false and damaging claims about Motwani were made on social media. This was done to avoid repaying an alleged loan of Rs. 27 lakh. Well, the petition revealed that Nancy James had borrowed the amount when she was married to Hansika's brother, Prashant Motwani, but she failed to repay it despite repeated requests. Hansika on the other hand revealed that she had very less involvement in the marriage of her brother, Prashant and was not even staying with the pair.
According to the report, Hansika Motwani alleged that the relationship between Prashant and Nancy had deteriorated. The actress alleged that she was unaware of their disputes, and, according to the suit, Nancy is known as a 'small-time TV actor'. She had projected a lavish lifestyle and did not even settle her dues.
For the unversed, Nancy James earlier accused Hansika Motwani and her husband, Prashant, of domestic violence allegations. In the FIR, she pressed charges of domestic violence, along with interference in her marriage and also demanded various expensive gifts during her wedding ceremonies. Nancy James also claimed that she was so stressed with the marriage that she developed a condition called Bell's Palsy. In this, there is partial facial paralysis. She also once, in her Instagram Story, revealed that she should not be associated with someone's absolutely fake world. Her Instagram Story had once read:
"Requesting a few social media platforms to please keep me away from someone else's life. You have always been supportive and understanding, and I truly appreciate that. Kindly don't associate me with someone's absolutely fake world. I don't have Paid PR-let time reveal the truth. 'Sab Samay ka khel Hai.' Peace, Love & Karma."
For the unversed, Nancy, the estranged wife of Prashant, had accused him of domestic abuse and had filed an FIR under various sections- 498-A, 323, 504, 506, and 34 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Allegations were levelled against him, his mom, Mona Motwani and Hansika at the Amboli Police Station back on December 18, 2024.
Hansika refuted all the allegations and revealed that she was not part of any domestic arrangement with the pair and cannot be held accountable. Hansika earlier had gone to the Bombay High Court and had quashed the FIR, argued that all the accusations were like baseless and it was all being done to tarnish her reputation. Hansika Motwani had filed a criminal defamation case and shared that the trouble between Prashant and James started a long time back. Both of them married in 2020 and have been living separately since 2022. The actress stated she was out of their personal issues, as divorce discussions had taken place earlier.
