Halle's ex-husband, Olivier, left everyone shocked by stating that the 60-year-old actress tried to physically abuse their son by jumping on him and choking him. However, Halle clarified that these are entirely meritless accusations against her. Currently, she has limited court-ordered contact with Maceo. She is allowed to meet two days a week and every other weekend till October 16 hearing.
Now, a source close to the actress told the Daily Mail that Halle is extremely saddened by the negative information that has been circulating about her in the media. It is a real low blow on her. The source further stated that Halle has been a great parent and has always been there for her kids and wants to give them a wonderful life.
However, the drama between Halle and her ex-husband, Olivier, has been going on for years. The ex-couple's divorce wasn't finalized until 2023 after a legal battle that left the actress paying USD 8,000 a month in child support, which includes his soccer expenses and 4.3 percent of any annual income above USD 2 million
However, as per Halle, her ex-husband has been oblivious to their son's difficulties and carelessly disregards them. A second source claimed that she is feeling like she is a cash machine and nothing else. The source said:
"It is just so sad for Halle, but Olivier believes it is by her own doing, and that is why they are where they are at - just a complete dissolution. The stress it is causing is overbearing."
The temporary restraining order against Halle states that it is to protect Olivier and Maceo, and the actress must remain 100 yards away from her ex-husband. The reports claimed that Halle had grabbed their son's neck from behind when he was not looking and made him 'tap out' on multiple occasions. However, Olivier never liked the behavior of Halle. The source said:
"Olivier would be overjoyed if he were given full custody of Maceo because he feels that she is unfit to be a mom. They both have tempers, but Olivier believes she has crossed a line, and to get their son away from her would be best for all involved."
Netizens also shared their opinion on the matter. One user wrote, "This is not a denial that anything bad happened, but after Olivier’s behavior towards her and the boy in the past, I’m inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt until more information comes out." A second one penned, "Didn’t texts come out showing that the son requested his dad to file? And that Halle choked him? Idk, it’s pretty clear to me."
A third user commented, "I don't really think we can read guilt or innocence in the statement itself. It's a lawyer's statement, drafted for a purpose, and she's probably not going to want to address the substance of the complaint before they can get something in front of a court. But whatever happened (hopefully an investigation will be able to determine the truth), I really feel bad for the kid. This must be awful for him."
