Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleHalle Berry's daughter, Nahla Aubry, has come to her mother's support after the actress's ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, made serious allegations against her. The 18-year-old submitted a declaration in court to firmly deny the claims that her mother ever abused her brother, Maceo Martinez. Notably, Nahla's statement comes at a time when her mother and Olivier are having a severe custody dispute in Los Angeles.
According to new court docs, Nahla described how Halle Berry was a loving and dedicated parent who had always prioritized her kids. The teenager explained that she has never witnessed any sort of physical abuse by her mother towards her 13-year-old stepbrother, Maceo.
According to Nahla, who spent a lot of time with her brother regularly saw the relationship between her mother and Maceo. She stated that she never saw Halle hit, slap, choke, or physically harm Maceo in any way. Nahla also rejected the claims that Halle had made any racially insensitive remarks towards her son. Instead, Nahla explained that her mother, who is biracial, has always taught both of her kids to embrace their identities and respect people from all backgrounds. In her words:
"I have never seen my mom place her hands around Maceo's neck, put him in a chokehold, restrict his breathing, or engage in any conduct remotely resembling the allegations that have been made against her."
The 18-year-old mentioned that the allegations were deeply upsetting and she was shocked to learn about the accusations. Nahla further described that Halle has always been a hands-on parent who went to his school events, sports activities, and celebrated all the important milestones in her children's lives. She also acknowledged that her mother could be strict when necessary, but she "never observed anything abusive" about her parenting. Recalling their bond, Nahla said:
"She attended his games, drove him to practices and tournaments, and advocated for his education. She celebrates our successes, supports us through challenges, and is always there when we need her."
For those who don't know, the legal battle started when Olivier Martinez accused Halle Berry of being a physically abusive mother. He claimed that she hit their son during an incident at her home in September 2026.
According to Olivier's court filing, there was an argument when Maceo was playing a virtual reality game. He alleged that Halle became angry, physically confronted their teenage son, and placed her hands around his neck. Olivier further claimed that similar incidents had taken place in the past.
Therefore, Olivier has sought the sole legal and physical custody of their son, based on his claims. A judge later granted him temporary primary custody while limiting Halle's parenting time unless decided otherwise in the next court hearing. However, the actress has strongly denied all the allegations. She argued through the legal team that these claims are false and misleading.
In fact, Halle has reportedly maintained that she had a harmless interaction with her son. She is firm on her claim that it was harmless rough-housing and not an act of violence. In turn, the actress has also accused Olivier of trying to damage her bond with her son by making the wrong influences. She has also asked the court to restore their previous 50/50 custody arrangement.
Outside the courtroom, Halle Berry has experienced many high-profile relationships throughout her life. She is currently engaged to musician Van Hunt. The couple began dating in 2020 after meeting during the COVID-19 pandemic. Halle described Van as the love of her life, and they announced their engagement after several years together. Halle is the mother of two children. She shares daughter Nahla with her former partner, Gabriel Aubry.
Although the couple never got married, they had a lengthy and highly publicized custody battle. Halle's son, Maceo, was born when she was married to French actor Oliver Martinez. They tied the knot in 2013 and separated after two years, but their disagreements over parenting and custody continued for many years. Before that, she was married to former baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benét.
