Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai X review

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai received mixed reviews from critics and netizens. A movie critic described the Varun Dhawan starrer as a spectacular family entertainer. An excerpt from his review can be read, "The master of situational comedy returns with an absolute bang! #HaiJawaniTohIshqHonaHai is a spectacular family entertainer that revives the golden era of commercial cinema. On the performance front, #VarunDhawan delivers a high-energy masterclass in physical comedy as Jass, showcasing unmatched comic timing. #MrunalThakur grounds the chaotic energy beautifully with a mature, emotionally resonant performance as Bani, while #PoojaHegde infuses the screen with vibrant glamour and an unexpectedly sharp comedic flair."

Film critic and trade analyst, Avishkar wrote on X, "#HaiJawaniTohIshqHonaHai- Mediocre! Rating: 2/5. When it’s a David Dhawan film, you know what to expect from it. You suspend your logical reasoning skills and enjoy it like a commercial ‘brain-rot’ entertainer. Unfortunately, even after doing that, ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hai’ fails to entertain. It’s a mess. The first half is bearable thanks to #VarunDhawan’s self-aware, silly comedy (he sells it in many scenes), but the second half really tests your patience. Mrunal and Pooja have nothing much to do. The rest of the ensemble tries hard to make you laugh, but very few scenes do actually land."

On the other hand, film trade analyst, Sumit Kadel called Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai a 'paisa-vasool entertainer'. He wrote, "#HaiJawaniTohIshqHonaHai: Paisa vasool entertainer. Rating: 3.5/5 A full-on Bollywood entertainer that delivers exactly what it promises - laughter, romance, music, confusion and unlimited fun. In an era dominated by dark thrillers and larger-than-life action spectacles, #HaiJawaniTohIshqHonaHai embraces old-school commercial cinema without hesitation. It’s colourful, cheerful, unapologetically filmy and loaded with moments designed purely to entertain, especially the Second half, which is outright hilarious."
