'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah' actor, Gurucharan Singh has been missing for two weeks. Recently, his father opened up about the family's emotional turmoil.
Gurucharan Singh, popular for portraying the role of ‘Roshan Singh Sodhi’ in the sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah, has been missing for two weeks now. The actor, who was supposed to return to Mumbai on April 22, 2024, after his father’s birthday celebrations, went missing after he left home for the airport. Even after days of investigation, the police officers are unable to trace his whereabouts.
Moreover, there have been speculations that the actor orchestrated his own disappearance. Amidst all this, Gurucharan’s father, Hargit Singh expressed his concern regarding his missing son. While talking to the Times of India, the actor’s father said that the entire family has been undergoing great emotional turmoil and are eagerly waiting for Gurucharan's return. Sharing that they have been waiting for an update from the authorities, Gurucharan’s father said:
“What has happened is very shocking, we don’t know how to deal with it. Hum sab bahut pareshaan hain and are eagerly waiting for some update from the police. Hum uske wapas aane ka intezaar kar rahe hain.”

Prior to his disappearance, Gurucharan took to his Instagram account to commemorate his father’s birthday. He shared a lovely picture with his father and penned a heartfelt note along with it. He wrote, “Very divine birthday father,” followed by three emojis.
Previously, Gurucharan’s father had lodged a missing person’s complaint with the Delhi Police just days after he disappeared. In the report, it has been mentioned that his 50-year-old son left home at 8:30 am on April 22, 2024, to catch his flight to Mumbai, but he has neither reached Mumbai nor returned home. The statement can be read as:
“My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on April 22nd to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing!”

Meanwhile, in an interview with TOI, Gurucharan’s friend, Bhakti Soni, who has been the actor’s friend for 10 years, was supposed to pick him up from the Mumbai airport. However, when Gurucharan did not show up at the scheduled time, she called him up to find out what was going on but she failed to reach him. Recalling how she thought that Gurucharan could have cancelled his trip at the last minute, she said:
“I went to the airport and waited for him, but he didn’t come. I tried calling him, but I couldn’t reach him. So, I thought he cancelled his trip at the last minute. The next day, I got to know that he was not traceable. I am now in touch with Gurucharan’s mother. She calls his friends to know if he has connected with any of us. We hope that the police is able to get some information. We are waiting for him to return.”
Earlier, a News18 report stated that the Delhi Police found out that Gurucharan had left his phone in the Palam area. They said that this made their investigation even more difficult as the actor did not have a phone with him. The police also uncovered through CCTV footage that he was seen moving from one rickshaw to another. They further stated that Gurucharan had planned everything and had moved out of Delhi.
