Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleGovinda and his extramarital affair buzz have always been in the headlines. While Sunita never spoke about it back in the '90s, she has been openly slamming her husband, Govinda for his extramarital affair at the age of 60. After a year of staying silent on his wife's allegations, Govinda finally reacted to the claims.
Speaking to ANI, Govinda addressed Sunita's claims about the alleged affair and he questioned her for bad-mounting him to gain success. He stated that his wife has levied similar claims in the past and he even credited her for taking responsibility of taking care of his children while he was busy with work.
Addressing the extramarital affairs, Govinda stated that till the age of 34, he was extremely innocent. Further pointed out that being married does not stop people from being unfaithful to their partners, Govinda was quoted as saying:
"I was so innocent till the age of 34 that even I feel embarrassed myself why I was so innocent. Aap mithai ki dukan mein reh kar aap bhookhe nikle toh kya dukhad hai."
Govinda accepted that men sometimes make reckless choices that they regret, but women are made different, as they can take a firm stand, as they love their families. The actor further accepted that he had no idea what was going on in his life between the ages of 21 and 34.
Govinda also added that his bond with heroines was full of love. For other heroes they worked with, they would call them nice but when a person would asked them about Govinda, they would start tearing up, and a woman's tears of love can't be bought, it is deeply felt.
Govinda also stated that Sunita affectionaltely hurls abuses at him and he takes it proudly. He said:
"Itne pyaar se gali deti hai mujhe aur main khata bhi hoon unke haath se. I feel that wherever people are and whatever roles the Almighty has assigned them, the specific niche they occupywe wouldn't have achieved success without them being there. We simply wouldn't be who we are. She has a rightful claim over the many children in our family who have now grown up. She was also kind to them."
Govinda further stated that to achieve success is it necessary to defame their own people. To create distance, allegations are needed, and people do it as it is easy. He added that Sunita praises him four times before insulting her. He said:
"Doori banane ke liye tohmat lagana zaroori hai kya? Kaamyabi ke liye apno ki burai zaroori hai kya? But sometimes, that’s easy. But it should be done tactfully. Like Sunita praises me four times, before insulting me. I see more love in there."
Soon, netizens shared their opinions on Govinda. One user on X wrote, "Govinda whitewashing his image." Another commented, "This fellow is failed husband and parent poor Sunita ji stuck she face a lot now she getting this out of it as traditional woman people not understand she deserve justice and her kids too this fellow is neither modern neither traditional he is crooked."

But the problem with Sunita is, if he was such a bad husband take divorce and move on. Why cash upon his stardom give interviews and badmouth him in those interviews."
