After winning 'Bigg Boss 19', Gaurav Khanna reacts to the rumours of buying votes to win the reality show.
The heartthrob of television, Gaurav Khanna, bagged the Bigg Boss 19 trophy along with the prize money of Rs. 50 lakhs. Actress Farhana Bhatt, meanwhile, became the first runner-up. Ever since Gaurav reached the final, there were murmurs that the show was ‘fixed’ and that the actor had paid people to vote for him.
Moments after winning the Bigg Boss 19 trophy, Gaurav Khanna spoke about the allegations leveled against him in an interview with India Today. He also shared that if eight out of ten people like him, he only played for those eight people. Addressing the rumours that he brought votes, Gaurav shared:
“I really believe that if you are real, then you will connect with people’s hearts. I don’t have so much money that I could even think of doing something like this. I think if one mother, a brother, a child or an elderly person liked me, then I touched their hearts.”
Post winning season 19 of Bigg Boss, Gaurav Khanna took to his IG handle, while holding the trophy. He thanked his fans and supporters while taking a dig at his competitors. For the unversed, as part of a task, Tanya Mittal had made a song with the lyrics, "GK kya karega?" This particular line became very popular and was often used by other contestants to mock his gameplay. Giving a subtle reply to "What will GK do?", the actor penned:
“The three-month journey has finally come to an end… and what an end it has been. The trophy is home. They kept asking, 'What will GK do?' And like we always said GK will bring the trophy home for all of us. He did."
Post his win, Gaurav Khanna spoke to ANI and shared his gratitude for winning the coveted trophy. He dedicated his journey to every normal person who goes to work in the morning and puts in a lot of hard work. The actor also called his win the victory of an ‘ordinary person’.
One of the most successful seasons of the show, Bigg Boss 19, ended with a lot of excitement. After three months of tough competition, only five contestants made it to the finale. Amaal Mallik was the first finalist to be evicted, followed by Tanya Mittal. Pranit More, Farrhana Bhatt, and Gaurav Khanna made it to the Top 3. After Pranit’s elimination, the fight was between Farrhana and Gaurav. In an exciting final showdown, Salman Khan announced Gaurav as the winner of Bigg Boss 19.
