Gaurav Khanna's fans' prayers finally got answered yesterday, on December 7, 2025, when he emerged as the ultimate winner of Bigg Boss 19. For those unversed, the hit reality show began on August 24, 2025, with 16 contestants. Among them, Gaurav had been a fan favourite to win from the very beginning. What set him apart in the unforgiving BB19 house was his unique gameplay and his calm demeanour. However, while he had hordes of fans supporting him, some netizens were less kind and criticised him for his quiet personality on Bigg Boss 19.
The three-and-a-half-month-long journey of Bigg Boss 19 tested participants' physical, mental, and emotional limits. While surviving this wasn't easy, one thing that captured viewers' attention was Gaurav's consistent gameplay. What also stood out was his avoidance of the typical clashes we are normally accustomed to seeing on the show. For instance, he did not fight over kitchen duties or any other pointless arguments that tend to happen between housemates. Gaurav's focus on maintaining his dignity and grace, especially given his years in the industry, is truly commendable. Following his win in the grand finale, Gaurav did not forget to thank his fans and stated:
"I would like to dedicate this journey to my fans. It wouldn't have been possible without them. I would like to dedicate this journey to every normal person who goes to work in the morning and works hard. This is a victory of an ordinary person. People have asked him a lot of questions and taunted him a lot."
Gaurav had been a strong contestant to win the show from the start, enjoying strong support from fans. Irrespective of this, there were still some netizens who were less than happy and thought that someone other than him from the top 5 should have lifted the diamond-studded trophy. One of the major reasons for such criticism was owing to his rather calm and quiet personality. Many users on social media expressed their disappointment at Gaurav and even called him fake. However, the Anupamaa actor stood firm in his actions. He said that he wanted to win the show without any unnecessary violence or aggression. Hinting at the same, he stated:
"I wanted to stand on my own terms without doing all this. I wanted to speak only when I had to speak and not on provocation.”
Gaurav Khanna also shared why it was he, and not anyone else, who won the Salman Khan-hosted show. He believes that his strong connection with the audience has aided his win. He stated:
"Many people who are connected to TV have come to the show in the past, but did not win. So I believe that I am connected to the public. So, that's why I won. Even if I am on TV or in any other profession, it doesn't matter. It is important for you to connect with your viewers.”
For those unversed, Gaurav had slowly built his reputation in the industry over the long duration of two decades. He started his career by appearing in television commercials. Later, although he appeared in quite a few Hindi serials, he is best known for lifting the trophy and carrying home a Rs. 20 lakh cash prize after winning the first season of Celebrity MasterChef India (2025). Now, adding the BB19 trophy to his collection, the actor took home a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh, plus a car from the show.
